164.1?!

I didn’t believe it when I read it so I went to a quarterback rating calculator online and it said 164.7. That’s absolutely insane. Granted he played for Central Arkansas, but still.

In College

I think it is easier to get your quarterback rating higher. Hell, Tebows rating this past season was 172.37.

It's calculated differently

The highest possible in the NFL is 158.3
The highest possible in the NCAA is 267.25

I told you...

The numbers dont lie…He was a true Sleeper!! I have been saying it the whole time…..Man if Gene keeps this up we are gonna be known as the lil patriots…..LOL!!!

I know us Jaguar fans...

could be accused of being over exhuberant with our excitement we feel about almost every one of this years draft choices. After watching the film and seeing the numbers, I would much rather have someone like Nathan Brown who was highly successful at a lower division school than a project like Josh Freeman who struggled at division one, as long as he meets the physical requirements.(which at 6’2" and 217, he does). Just like I would rather have either of the receivers, Thomas or Dilliard, than Heyward-Bey for the price we paid. Bey struggled at Maryland, even with all that speed he had several games without any catches. Not much of a difference maker. Back to Brown, he looks nimble enough and he throws a really accurate pass, a lot of the catches made in the video, the receiver wasn’t that wide open. A great pickup considering the need for a developmental QB.

I agree 100%. Good point.

alright i watched it

in his “highlight” video, he has great accuracy, a quick release and amazing pocket presence-much better than staffords.

the problem is that his ball doesn’t have a lot of zip. It does at times but a lot of the throws seemed like they couldve been a lot faster.

once again great accuracy and thank you for sharing

Looks like

Tony Romo or a scrambling Favre.

Thanks for the memories Fred, the #1 back on my roster

Favre was

a scrambler early on.
I want to know what he looks like when he’s trying to pass through small windows.

by Ewdtrey on Apr 29, 2009 4:04 PM EDT up reply actions

He seems to have ...

… quick feet and he throws well on the run. At his height that 3/4 release won’t cut it, tho, he’s gonna have to learn to throw overhand.

by ruffdaddy on Apr 29, 2009 4:29 PM EDT reply actions

Speaking of throwing on the run

I was kind of dissappointed in Zach Miller’s ability to throw on the run, which probably important if he’s gonna be running the Wild Jag.

by Ewdtrey on Apr 29, 2009 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Mix of Pennington, Early Favre, and some Tony Romo

Romo has that same 3/4 release.

2008 31 TDS 4 INT

One of the INT’s was by a DL and the other 2 by receivers bobbling ball.

Has the physical/mental/leadership qualities of Kurt Warner. Will not awe you with an overpowering arm but will impress you with his pin point accuracy.

I believe he has only lost about 7 games in 4 years as the starting QB. 3 of those 4 years as a D1 transitional team. The kid knows how to lead and win. You’ve got a steal! There is a reason that Shula signed Brown as free agent over Wilson(Bama).

BTW I am now a Jags fan!

This is a better compilation of what Brown can do for you. Watch after the ESPN highlight how he gets the ball knocked out from behind in the pocket, keeps his composure and completes the pass.

i like this guy’s potential and the fact that Vic Ketchman will probably be getting more emails again from Toad Suck, Arkansas.

I thought

that was funny too. Toad Suck, Arkansas email regarding a former college QB, how coincidental is that? haha
