Crabtree

I live in Big 12 country so I got to see a lot of Crabtree.  The Monday after the draft most of my co-workers that talk football were amazed that the Jags didn’t select Crabtree.  I was excited that Monroe dropped to the Jags, but I wondered what could have been.  That was until I watch path to the draft the other night on the NFL channel.  It followed Michael Crabtree, Matthew Stafford, and Brain Cushings.  Cushings was amazing to watch preparing for the combine and then not being satisfied so working even harder for his pro day.  Stafford was shown being bounced around from interviews to appearances to getting prepared and then on to his pro day.  Crabtree was shown test driving a Mercedes, then hearing about his injury, then after getting his boot off looking at multi-million dollar apartments (so he would have a place to go when he went back to Dallas), and then on draft day putting on his custom made suit with his name and number embroider inside.

I couldn’t have been happier after watching that, that the Jags didn’t select $$$Crabtree$$$, but I am now worried that the Texans picked up a guy like Cushings.

It Happens… Texans needed a LB, Jags didn’t… Monroe was the BAP at #8, especially over Cushings… Good luck Texans… They deserve a winning season… As long as they don’t win 2 games against the Jags…

+1

Don’t forget they got Barwin as well. I think they got 2 pretty good players.

Luckily for us

Barwin will take some time to get better. And he’s a little undersized.

I wish the Texans

a little success. They deserve it. I hope may can reach the playoff as well. Hey, we are rebuilding, they have a young team with very good players, a good D, and one of the best revűceivers in the league. Now they have a good back in Slaton as well. Because of the parity, that I so love in the NFL, i wish them a good season, maybe a divisional title. I bet they will not be out of reach with that like another team’s fans (not all, but some) that I could name…

While I wish them success

We need to win the division title before I start wishing it on a rival team. I wish Fred Taylor success, too, but I wouldn’t start rooting for the Pats to win the superbowl before the Jags.

But, I understand what you’re saying Zoltan. I do. I think Houston has a very good chance to be towards the top of the division this season. They better have at least 2 losses though (vs. Jax, and at Jax).

Of course

I want that. 2 victoies against them, and they sweep the Colts and the Titans. But I would be happy, if we can finish at least 1-1 against them

Everything about Crabtree screams

out to me taht his money is going to go to his head, and he will not be focused on the games. In my opinion, I see either trouble in the clubs, rape accusations, etc, etc….. I don’t wish it on him, and I hope he has a great career. But I just see him losing focus and ruining his career.

The guy has bust written all over him

Thank you Gene for doing what was best and taking Monroe. Shack would’ve taken Crabtree.

If he is, we’ll have the last laugh!

I'm glad we didn't get him

more for his physical skills and size. I could have sworn that last year everyone said he was 6’4 maybe 6’3, and then it comes out that he is much closer to 6’0. He looked like he had pretty good hands every time I saw him but his speed and quickness never really blew my mind, I always thought he used his size to out fight guys for the ball. I don’t think he will be able to do that in the NFL.

I hope he does well though, 49er fans need a break.

Fear the Texans!

Forget the Colts – We win opening day.

Titans have Jeff Fisher. Always dangerous with Jeff around.

I'll forget the Colts

When they finally look forgettable.

by Adam Stites on Apr 30, 2009 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions

I would forget them

if Peyton “crunchtime” manning wiull be so “good” in regular games, then he is i nplayoffs. Until that, I have the respect and aware from that team. But i wanna see how good HC is Caldwell! That is the big question for me about Colts.
Titans: very good team, but if Collins is injured, well, could mean there season is almost over.
But don’t underestimate Fisher, maybe he is there best weapon!
