BCC Mock Draft; with the Twentyfourth selection in the 2009 NFL Draft The Atlanta Flacons select Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State
To continue the offiensive foundation that way layed last season with the additions of Matt Ryan and Michael Turner, we have decided to go with the best Tight End in this years draft. Every young Quarterback needs a safety net, and Pettigrew fits the bill nicely. He may not have game breaking speed, but he runs solid routes, blocks well, and catches the ball nicely.

wise choice
but i do wonder what other needs they could fill here and then select Jared Cook, Corenelius Ingram, or (my personal favorite) Shawn Nelson in the second or third.
The idea does remain the same, Matt Ryan plus a TE equals greatness.
surreal to be teal
I think
Matt Baker at LT will struggle a lot next year, hence having a good blocking TE to help out will make the whole offense run more smoothly. Besides they don’t have anyone else worth anything at TE. Also Matt Ryan is still young and a good safety valve like Pettigrew, is crucial.
