Jaguars QB-RB combo ranked 32nd?!?!?!?
In a recent article on SI.com, John Mullin ranked the Jacksonville Jaguars QB/RB combo as number 32nd in the league. To repeat, he ranked the Jaguars behind the Raiders, Lions, and Seahawks.....now does anyone else see this as completely crazy. Here is his reasoning:
32. Jacksonville Jaguars
Who: QB David Garrard; RB Maurice Jones-Drew
Add/subtract: Fred Taylor, Matt Jones and Jerry Porter leave varying size holes in the offense but adding Tra Thomas up front and Torry Holt gives Garrard some help.
Add/subtract: Taking two OT's (Eugene Monroe, Eben Britton) in the first 39 picks of the draft was a statement and a much-needed one for a front that was 23rd in sack percentage.
Questionable: Garrard's play in general. After a 3-3 start, he had just two 100-plus passer ratings in a 2-8 run and one of those was against the Lions.
The Thought: Jones-Drew is a legitimate threat rushing or receiving, but Garrard has not taken a step he and the Jags need.
This just doesnt make sense to me....here is the full link:

Yeah... I stopped getting SI a long time ago...
I was getting SPorting News, which was far superior to SI, but then they changed from one mag a week to one mag every other week. It was turning into a sports variety mag, and not a hardcore sports mag. I no longer subscribe to any mags…
The End Is Nigh... www.infowars.com
My sub to the Sporting News
is up soon and I hate the new format – ESPN the Magazine by any other name. Anybody get Pro Football weekly? Is it worth it?
I don't like their website... and If their Website's Jag coverage is any indication, they likely ignore the team most of the time.
The End Is Nigh... www.infowars.com
what a joke
the article is obviously crap and should be taken with a grain of salt
I was at SI's site
and when I see the poll in general I thought, wow a category that the jaguars could be at the top 10. When I saw our ranking, I (almost) fell down from the chair.
I’m speechless. We have a proven QB (more proven then Anderson, Cambell, Russell, and specialy more then Sanchez and Stafford, and might the most powerfull weapon in the AFC Maurice Drew. (and I’M not count now might RBGreg Jones, maybe one of the best FB in the league…
I’M speechless, angry a bit (and my other team just one the cup final, and SI turn me from very happy to pissed off. Thank you very much guys…)

By the why
maybe it is rude, but the title of the article must be this:
DID YOU SEE THIS SHIT?

I smell that
Mullins is a doofus. If the O-line does what is expected, we’ll be wiping our rears with his article by mid-season.
I'm your huckleberry...
It is human nature
it is human nature for everyone to have an opinion even stupid ones. Let the moron’s at SI and every else think that our running attack is nothing. Shoot them blabbing that the Jags running attack is nothing will allow us to fly under radar. But our O-line has to do its job and Mighty mouse has to prove that Gene was smart in giving him all that money

These teams shouldn't be higher than us
1. Browns
2. Lions
3. Raiders
4. Redskins
5. Jets
6. Titans
7. 49ers
8. Buccs
9. Chiefs
10. Broncos
11. Falcons (At least next season)
12. Dolphins
13. Ravens
This list puts us at least somewhere lower in the middle of list, but not near the bottom.
Until we prove otherwise,
Titans, Ravens, Dolphins, and Falcons are in front of us.

From a purely statistical point of view
Garrard ranked 20th in efficiency and 10th in yards. MJD was 25th in rushing (while also catching 62 balls for 565 yards) and was 6th in rushing TDs with 12.
As a team Jacksonville was 20th (ahead of Tennessee and Pittsburgh) in total yards and tied for 23rd with 35 total TDs.
Now by my account these stats, although porous, alone should net the Jags a backfield ranked in the very late teens or early 20s. The loss of Fred Taylor plays into the rankings so I wouldn’t mind losing 3 or 4 slots to land somewhere in the mid-20s. I’m going to guess that the guy who wrote this forgot about the Jags and threw them in at the last second. I’m halfway serious.
I don’t know why this article bothers me because it really shouldn’t. I think its more bothersome that national media doesn’t do their homework or have an opinion that doesn’t makes much sense. I’ve been slacking in my viewing of the worldwide leader because of this.
These Jag-bash articles may actually be written by closet Jags fans.
Every time the Jaguars have been written off, put down, bad mouthed, they’ve exceeded the media’s expectations. You see what I’m getting at?
I was thinking the same thing...
Not neccessarily that the column was written by a closet Jag fan but the fact that the more bashing the Jags take this off season the better. It’s like when no one is named to the Pro Bowl, the guys omitted seem to play harder with a chip on their shoulder. The further the Jags fly under the radar the better.
Under The Radar
Thats where the Jags are best, without a doubt. Especially Garrard.

LUDICRIOUS...................
I was just going to subscribe to S.I. and get myself one of those free jackets. But this article was not only informative, but you just saved me some money. This guy should be slapped repetitively………….

In the comments section of that article, the SI staff responds to all the ridicule.
Post 30 is from the SI staff. They give arguments that support the ranking of Jax, but does not support the ranking of other teams. In other words, they fucked up.
Hahahaha
Even the non-Jags fans are blasting this list… that’s awesome!

Jack Del Rio is in
“Jaguars This Week” and he’s reaction to this was that:
We ’ll see in the end of the year. he was calm about it. (Jeff Lageman is there tonight, he was a bit upset about it)

What was stated earlier
Lets those bafoon’s think what they want to think. With these low rankings it will allow us to fly under radar and pounce them when they least expect it

Thank you for giving me a heads up.
I always think they update JTW on Tuesdays, and feel utterly shattered when, after waiting through all the commercials, traffic report, and weather, that it’s an old one. Time to light some candles, turn off the lights, and head over to WOKV.com.
I listened it live!
Between 6-7 PN (Midnight to 1 in Hungaryan time)
It was quite a good show dispite Vic and Brian was there.
I gave credit to Jeff he made quite show with Del rio, and with gene Smith.
Twio more news from the programm, our scouts sdtarted to collect infos from the prospects of next year’s draft in full throttle!!!! (Boy, Gene really is a big draft guy!-my confindence growing and growing on him!)
And other news-Matt Jones will be NOT suspended by the league according to his agent. Let’s hope someone give him a middle sized salary contract, which might effect the extra picks of next year!

Nothing gets a jaguar fan going
than a jaguars bashing, patronizing article
"HULU: An evil plot to destroy the world. Enjoy"
Vic is back
and here is his response to the “issue”
In a recent "SI" article, David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew were ranked the worst backfield in the league. The same combo many predicted to take the Jags to the Super Bowl last year is now the worst in football?
Vic: That wouldn’t be my thought but what does it matter where they’re ranked? I wouldn’t let this bother you. It’s all meaningless garbage intended to elicit a response from fans who are bored and starting to champ at the bit for the start of football. I swear, the "Dead Zone" starts earlier every year. We still have nine OTA practices remaining. Let’s wait until the end of June before we start on this "Dead Zone" rankings crap, OK?

To be honest.
I think Prisco is a Jags homer, but is overly critical of the Jags in order to avoid questions about his journalistic integrity.
I don't know
He kills me sometimes. He’s tolerable. I’d rather listen to Prisco than the garbage they play on the fm dial.
vae victis
Cole Pepper got fired
Funny, when i was younger i thought it was Culpepper and they were calling him by his last name.
"HULU: An evil plot to destroy the world. Enjoy"
Ya ok, dumbass
Ok this article is pure B.S. like come on man! Oakland is crap at QB and Ware is ok, Seatle was well crap last year, and HOW IN THE WORLD CAN ANYONE PUT THE LIONS INFRONT OF JACKSONVILLE?? The Lions have no run game and their QB sit. was laughable last season. Oh and lest we forgot the Chiefs who had a diff. QB each week. David and Maurice, if you read this know that SI doesnt know the ass from a hole in the ground.
