Troy Williamson's problems are all in his head!

When you look at this series of pictures, you understand why Troy Williamson was a #7 pick in the draft. His speed and body control are unreal. This stop and turn he executes shows how much power and talent he has. If we can design an offense that takes advantage of his ability and he can hold on to the ball, this is a superb athlete. After seeing this at camp, I am not ready to give up on Troy just yet.

Do you mind if I post a link to the pictures in another site????
I had an argument with some guys about Troy’s ability a couple of months ago, i would like to show them this series of pictures. If you allow it of course.

Heck as of last year

I would argue his biggest problem was his health. Remember all those soft tissue injuries? Because he didn’t drop anything in camp or in a game.

He even caught a deep pass

But it was later called back because of a penalty

i hope he blows up, that his trade would rival the randy moss trade, but

when you get beat, they say you got “mossed”, not you got “troyed” for a reason

Troy

The story on Williamson is he drops a lot of Balls last year we threw to him some and it was a 50/50 chance this year Troy haas got to catch everything in practice and more importantly games otherwise he’ll be playing some where else

Probaly will be watching somewhere else, not playing.

Yes historically

he’s been horrible catching the ball, he didn’t drop it at all last year.

Williamson is a CLASSIC 1st round bust.

he was the 7th overall pick of Min and they traded him for a 7th round draft pick (I beleive it was a 7th rounder). To put it mildly – that blows dog. The book on him was that he was a practice hero, but when it came time for the “real bullets” he just plain sucked.

I was in favor of the trade last year. A 7th rounder is not much to give up to take a flyer on someone with that kind of speed.

If he can’t crack the line up this year – cut bait already! You can have all the talent in the world, but if you cannot translate that to on the field performance in actual games – your talent is worth zip, zero, nadda!!

Agreed

He is surrounded by talent all fighting for a position. This is when it happens or it doesn’t.

What I am saying in this post is he does exhibit amazing talent. I understand the coaches interest, but we are in an era of “refocus” and “football players” not athletes.

Thanks!

Williamson

Call me crazy, but I think this guy still has the chance to be a number 2 someday. Like you said, that great speed and body control get him open. He just needs to spend some more time on the JUGS machine.

Never dropped a pass last season, maybe this is a sign to winning a slot receiver role this upcoming season.

If it is going to happen

it has to happen this year. The team will move on past him if he doesn’t show it.

I think he has the tools, I do hope h will show it.

Agree

This is his last year to prove himself. Like Vic says, “Its a game of replacement, not management”.

I agree with all of this

I just don’t think he got enough playing time last year or something. I don’t know. The guy dropped nothing. I guess David has to see him when he gets open.

Forget year... this is his last training camp. If Underwood is better, he's better.

I promise competition will be key. Williamson may not even make it out of the preseason.

It's all good to me

I just want to win. I went through the pain of them releasing Freddy. I could care less at this point about anybody else on the team. I’ve hardened my heart. lol
