Thanks once again!
Very good links and articles John. I read some of them, but nearly half of them was new to me, so thanks, and keep this new feature of BCC continue!

agreed. I found a few I hadn't seen either
The UCONN article was especially interesting

Ha.
Who does Pashos think he is? He slims down, but really the only advantage he has right now is his great weight/height ratio that allows him to run block well. My boy Eben has this one in the bag…

You're absolutely right about that.
I think it may come down to who plays guard better though. If Manuwai can’t go to start the season, then we may see Pashos at guard. If he can go, I wouldn’t be surprised to see pashos traded. The team loves the guy and he’s a leader, but Britton is just a better player… Period
I certainly expect Britton to be the Tackle of the future and for Pashos to either to be traded or moved to guard. Thing is, he’s got an expensive contract for a guard, While Mo Williams has a much cheaper contract. So if Mo and Vince are at Guard, and Monroe and Britton at tackle, then I’d suspect we’ll see either Tra or Pashos moved if value is there for picks. I would think that Pashos would be the odd man out because he’s making more than Tra, and if we lost Britton for the season, Monroe could move to RT and Tra to LT. I really see very little need for pashos unless he has a stellar training camp.

do it, and call me out if I'm wrong, because I have a really good feeling about that prediction.

If nothing else, I'm glad Pashos isn't taking the drafting of Britton sitting down or complaining in the press
I give him major props for training harder and fighting for his job

Right on... he looks great by the way, Physically I mean.
I was watching him in the background in OTA’s and it’s clear he’s visibly slimmer, and howpefully that will make him a better lateral mover.

I really like Pashos
and his attitude. He’s a stand up guy. And he seems kind of old school to me.
However, after having said that, I think he is not very likely to be a starter for a large portion of the year.(Unless there is an injury)
My first thought after drafting Britton and Monroe was that Pashos could beat out Mo Williams at guard. To check on my theory I went back and saw some 07 and 08 games, and Mo Williams is very underrated. I think his injury had more to do with our demise last year than Vince Manuwai even.
I also came to the conclusion that even though Manuwai has been a really good run blocker, Uche plays with more fire and power. However, Manuwai is better moving laterally and he’s better mentally. As for the mental side of things, Uche really really improved a lot through last year, and given the time he can be just as good a run blocker.
Back to Mo Williams. He’s not the grinder that Uche and Manuwai are because if you follow them there is a good chance that you will get 3 yards on a consistent basis. But with Mo you can get some of those 3 yards and some no gains. The good part is that with him; sprinkled in there, you get some of those longer 7-8 yard runs that sometimes turn into 40 yard TD’s. So in his own right I would call him a playmaker. And how many times last year did we seem to do ok, but no one was making a play. In fact I distinctly remember JDR and Garrard referring to that exact problem in post games.
My only spite of the old o line guys we have is
that one or two of them get hurt every single year! Our IR list always has one of them.

Btw, anyone notice who the author of Torry Holt's fantasy forecast was?

? PLease elaborate... I have no idea what you are talking about.
do you have a link bro?
By the way. I just want to compliment you on how much work you’ve put into the site recently. I know I complimented you earlier, but I am VERY pleased by how much you’ve put up lately (practically perfect grammar and syntax too). I know Chris and Terry are really busy right now, hence the limited posts by them. I was feeling like for awhile that I was getting overwhelmed keeping fresh stuff up every day, and this past week you have utterly impressed me with everything you’ve been posting.
I’ve always enjoyed your topics choice. Both this articles topic, and the quality of writing were some of the best I’ve seen from you lately. I’m sure everyone else has noticed too, you’ve really burst back onto the BCC scene, and it is clear that you are focused and analytical in your writing since taking that brief break.
Stellar… literally stellar work lately.

I am really blown away by John's devotion to the site lately, and he needs to hear about it.
Without John this week, we would’ve had FAR fewer articles, and I wouldn’t have read quite a few quickbytes articles that I really enjoyed. Way to go in every aspect partner…
OK! The love-fest is over… haha… no more verbal make-outs… (eww… that’s an image I could do without).

It's the ESPN article on Torry Holt
Half way down you see a side box saying “Torry Holt fantasy forecast”. Read that including the author’s name. Also, thank you again for the compliments.

interesting paragraph
in the article on julius williams, it states:
“Williams, who had 11 tackles for losses, including six sacks, last season, is one of the few free agents working out at two positions. In the 4-3 scheme (four down linemen and three linebackers) he plays defensive end. In the 3-4 scheme, he’s getting time at outside linebacker, a position he played some at UConn and in high school.”
i know there were lots of predictions that the jags would be using some 3-4, but this is the first mention i’ve heard of them actually practicing it. i wonder how it’s going.
I think it's wonderful
seeing all these small(er) school rookies make contributions. I usually root for the underdogs and as of now, they seem to be thriving. UCONN has gotten some recognition for it’s football team. Hope to hear more.
