Reggie Nelson: Hard at work.
"With the players off last week for the Memorial Day holiday, Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio strolled down the facility's empty hallways into the locker room.
Once inside, he saw third-year safety Reggie Nelson hitting the showers after a workout.
"We were off, yet I go in and see him doing that," Del Rio said. "He's just putting in that extra right now."

Good to see
that Reggie knows, he must work extra time to be at least on the level when he was a rookie. I really hope he will not be another 1st round bust. And for that he need to be much-much better.
This is might the first sign to prevent that.

It is Good to See
But I don’t think you can use Reggie Nelson and bust in the same sentence. A guy who has 5 interceptions as a rookie seems impossible to bust.

If he has
no more good season, than he could be a bust. Of course I hope this will not happen, and he will be a sure pointin the secondary. But now, he has to improve in a big way for that!

I Think Last Season
He really just wasn’t comfortable in the 46 defense with a lot of responsibility and a complicated system.

I hope
that was just the problem, and we see a real playmaker safety.
I’ll cheer for him. I hope Tucker can lead him what the Jaguars belived he will going to be!

great to hear
but hopefully he’s putting the time in the classroom too (where he needs it the most)

Good to see
Nelson didn’t take the kind of step he needed last year. Maybe he wasn’t comfortable in Williams’ system. Hopefully he’ll get back to his rookie form.

Yeah
The 46 isn’t right for him.

the eraser? excuse me while I laugh very hard. thats one of bob sanders nicknames and to call him the eraser borders on idiotic. he couldnt tackle at florida and he cant tackle with jax. writing an article because hes working out longer as opposed to the rest of the team going to the movies?
what i think you need to question is why was he the only one working longer. the winning teams, players work longer than the team are a common place. I guess this is all new to you

Talk about being biased
There can only be one “last person” or one “first person.”
And who’s to say that everyone else isn’t working out extra and he’s just putting in even more time on top of that? Or that the other players are putting it in before practice as opposed to after? Or did you forget that’s only the start of June and for people that have been playing the game for a number of years at a high level would only be over killing it right now? Keep in mind these workouts are voluntary in the first place, hence they are all technically putting in extra time.
I can deal with pessimist, but I’m not very tolerable of straight up out of nowhere haters. You went out of your way to hate.
(And who in the heck said anything about the movies???)

Damn Dude
You’re just a pest that shows up from time to time just to start shit. I’m fine with that, I love rivalry. But if you’re going to do it, don’t blow everything out of proportion and just hate. Reggie Nelson can sure as hell hit. Last season he was thinking, and not playing. Most big hits in the NFL come from confidence, something thats probably pretty foreign to you. When a player has to over think, and worry about his head being taken off on the sidelines if he makes a mistake, it’s going to substantially lower his confidence. In his first year in the league, Reggie brought the hammer down on receivers coming across the middle; a hit on Antonio Gates in the San Diego game immediately comes to mind. Reggie can hit.

Great
Great news. He’s on the right track to getting back to his rookie year days and his time at Florida. They called him the “Eraser” at Florida because he made hard hitting tackles. He has talent. He just has to learn more and he is doing that now by getting in some extra time in the film room.
On another note, Del Rio is really unhappy with John Henderson right now. He is having shoulder problems and that is keeping him out of practice. Del Rio said that he is upset with him because it’s not a serious enough injury to keep him out of practice. He has to deal with pain. He’s a big tough guy and I don’t know how serious the injury is, but he needs to deal with it and get back to practice.
