Torry holt ,Mike walker , Troy williamson ready or done

Those three are already much better than what we had a season ago .Also, with the addiction of the rookies that has come to help this team regain a more effective passing attack .But  Troy and Mike must really contribute this year or thats  the end of their time in Duval  Mike T would probably make it before Dillard but hopefully all would be able to contribute Jacksonville has a new regime third times a charm  GO JAGS GO

Not to bust your chops....

but “the addiction of the rookies” cracked me up. I’m sure you meant “addition” and hopefully we we have gotten rid of all the addicts.(Jones, Williams, etc.)

Funny how things work out.

If he had said that four years ago, it would have been completely legitimate, and he would have been labeled a prophet. Four years later, it’s just a typo.

Please no more rookies with addictions!

LOL, a sense of humor is a good thing.

I really like our receivers this year. After not having a replacement for Jimmy & Keenan for so many years, we may actually have 3 or 4 receivers who are really good this year.

As talented as Williamson is, he (or Northcutt) may be the receiver who doesn’t make the squad, a far cry from last year. You’re right, they are definitely better than what we had a season ago.

It seems like Marcedes Lewis is looking really good this year also, from what I’ve seen and heard.

Hooolllldddddddd On There Baba Lui

I agree that Holt is an upgrade, but Walker is injury prone so big whup, and Williamson is a classic 1st round bust that, to put it bluntly, is a practice hero but can’t play in real games worth a flip (this is a family site).

I have hope for our rookies, but that’ll take time.

Last year’s WR’s were the worst in the league – the cure will not come overnight . I expect improvement, but there was only one way to go. I’m truely excited about the Holt signing. His better days are behind him, but he’s an all pro with great work ethic and high character. He should be a great mentor to help develop young talent. The payoff should come in year 2 & 3.

Actually Tennessee's was pretty bad,

We had a small resergence with Matt Jones but other that nothing. Tennesse just ran the ball cuz of there lacking.

I agree with you that Tenn's WR;s were bad - But ours were worse. My reasonong for saying that is

we had several 1st rounders (3) that can only be described as busts. To my knowledge, Tenn didn’t have any 1st rounders. Matt Jones was the only bright spot, but he missed 1/4 of the season due to suspension and as a 1st round pick, he didn’t measure up. Our WR’s counldn’t get open ( a huge reason why Gerrard held the ball so long) and when they did, they lead the league last year in dropped passes — they just plain couldn’t catch the damn ball. We also had the absolute worst FA pick up in Jerry Porter and at least one person made that claim at the time of his signing (yours truely).

In my humble opinion, Gene needs to cut a few more WR’s, but that probably won’t occur until next year due to the shere number of people who need the ax. Northcut and Williamson need walking papers and if they don’t seriously contribute this season, I believe they’ll be shown the door.. I applaud Gene for blowing up last years WR’s and I like the direction he’s moving in.

Williamson

Is the next one on the chopping block. To many promising rookies to do what he can’t…catch. He won’t make it past the preseason. I think Walker may be able to overcome the injury bug and have a breakout year. Holt is a basically a legend, let’s hope he has some magic left for us. I like all I’ve heard about the rookies. Except the addiction thing…that sounds too familiar. Why couldn’t our stoners have been more like Santonio Holmes? At least Matt could have tried to catch the ball with his powerful nose suction.

I Like Our Receivers

But don’t expect Garrard to throw for 4,500 yards, and Mike Thomas isn’t going to catch 10 touchdowns.

Mike Thomas won't even be used in the red zone most likely..

The guy is 5 foot nyuck…

He’s not going up over anybody, I don’t care how high he can jump…

I can see Dilliard being our Santonio Holmes in the endzone.

He’s had alot of experience in catching balls within the boundaries of an endzone

Yeah he will

He’s got a 42" vert. He can jump. And he’s got long arms and being 5’11" isn’t all that short.

Good Point. But I Don't think he is physical or wide bodied enough to box anyone out.

neither is-insert name here-

you dont have to be anquan boldin, but i do see your point.

i feel he’ll find his groove and it will work for him. if he was two inches and 10 pounds more, he wouldve been a first day pick

I Agree

Sometimes a small height or weight difference can drop a play 3-4 rounds. I heard ole’ Lageman say the same thing about Julius Williams. If he was 6’5" and 270 pounds, he would have gone in the first round. I still think Julius Williams is going to be a great player…

Well he could wear

some extra pads for that 10 pounds and put toilet paper into his shoes or wear an extra pair of socks for that 10 extra pounds and 2 inches.
