Northcutt Traded to Lions
According to John Clayton of ESPN.com, the Jaguars have traded the veteran wide receiver to the Detroit Lions.
And the Lions have compensated the Jaguars by sending them safety Gerald Alexander.
Alexander and Northcutt share the same agent, Jerome Stanley. Per the report, which cited sources, Stanley was surprised that Alexander was included in the trade.
Per the report, the Lions were unwilling to give up a draft pick. So, that’s how the rare player-for-player swap developed.
According to Clayton, the trade terms were completed today. However, the deal won’t be official until next week when it’s ratified by league officials.

Interesting trade
Alexander played 2 years so far in the NFL, in his rookie year he played in every game, had 2 INts, 2 sacks, 81 tackles. Last year he played 5 games.
He was a 2nd round pick 2 years ago, from boise State.
I’m sure there will be more infos about him.
Here is his salary: 2009: $460,000, 2010: $550,000, 2011: Free Agent

Ouch
He played 5 games because he suffered a career risking injuriy against the Vikings on week 5. It seems (i hope) he is fully recovered from a fractured vertebra(!!!) suffered last October.

This shows Detroit was meant for the job of
King of Losers, either way we win, if this guy stinks, we are paying him peanuts, but if he is great it’ll be a 150% great trade. Besides the point that this guy is young and can play for a long while.

I think...
Tennessee’s safety Chris Hope had a similar neck injury almost two years ago and he came back fine from it.
Jacksonville Jaguars. It's what I do.

Alexander Might Be Gravy
Trading NorthDROP was a good move, the Jags were lucky to get anything for him.
If Alexander turns out to be a decent player then it’s gravy…
