We are on the eve of the first preseason game, and things are going to get exciting real quick. Mike Williams, WR? Maybe Mike Thomas® from Arizona?

I just wanted to ask for
a list like this. I mean that who will make the team. I 90% agree with your list John, although, I think Bouman will be the backup QB, Paul Smith will go to the Practice Squad
Bouman is a lock-UNLESS there will be a backup QB with some starter experience, will be cut by an other team!
Nate Hughes might make the team and either a rookie, or (if Mike Walker not healed until opening day) will be end up at PS or IR
The backup LBs is an interesting question. Iwuh, and Thomas Williams will made the final roster, Russell Allen is my 3rd candidte.
Kennard Cox I think will made the final roster I see Ittersagen at PS, alongside with Cameron Stephenson, Josh Vaughan, Paul Smith, Tim Shaw and Michael Desormeaux
I see you think Weatherford will take Podlesh’s job. Well then that’s happen there goes a 4th round pick from just 2 years ago…

well put together, John
I’d say your mostly correct.
The big things, Paul Smith and Steve Weatherford, I agree on.
due to weatherford’s consistency and Bouman reportedly only being able to throw to half the field.
Maybe one less TE and one more LB for 34 reasons and there is talk of Mo Williams getting tossed around. Maybe off the team as well. We will see.
Great topic and great job with it.

With Williams moving around
that could mean it’s the end of the line for Dennis Norman as our swing guy. Norman is a powerful guy, but his pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired. With Williams, Uche, and Cecil Newton I think we have enough backup centers behind Meester.

Agree
Especially with Paul Smith being the backup. He really opened my eyes in that scrimmage last week. Smith looked accurate, mobile, and stronger in person. Smith also runs the no huddle well, with command and authority.
I think the Jags will keep Tyron Brackenridge. He could be a nickel corner someday. And I think the Jags find a way to keep Tim Shaw. He’s a thumper who could challenge Thomas Williams for backup middle linebacker.

I actually like
Tim Shaw more Thomas Williams. They are kind of fighting for different roster spots, because Williams is a MLB and Shaw is a SLB. But Shaw much more in the special teams department.
I think we might keep Tyron Brackenridge too. It’s kinda a muddled mess behind the starters with the DB’s minus Derek, Gerald, and Starks.

Like it.... but.......
I really think Cameron Stephenson is too much of an asset to let him go…..
I understand the strength and depth of our OL, but we shouldn’t let go that kind of players……
I’d rather let Norman leave and in the need of a backup C, let Uche play that position.
What do you think?

I like the list
but what about Rob Meier? You dont think he will make it?
by JagSoldier on Aug 16, 2009 11:44 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I think he will make it
he’s a good change of pace guy. I just think he should be playing the role Landri played last year. It’s hard to keep 10 DL though.

Let's wait and see after 1st PS game
I like what I hear about some new guy’s, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be on the team. We are re-building but not that much. We could end up cuting Rob Meier, Jordan Black, and Cameron Stephenson….
I don’t think we are gonna have 3 safety’s and 5 cb’s, and 4 te’s and 4 lb’s, 9 dl’s on our roster.
by Nikola R on Aug 17, 2009 5:33 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I dont think Chauncey Washington will make it. Dont think Troy Williamson will either. Mo Williams will be cut… There are talks of them moving Pashos in to RG and putting Britton or Monroe at RT for the time being. I hope Cecil Newton makes the other C spot over Dennis Norman. We will only carry 3 TE’s; not 4. BTW, Russell Allen will make the team at LB. We will keep 5 LB’s; not 4.

yeah I rather have Cecil Newton than Dennis Norman

if only 3 TE's
Does that mean Richard Angulo’s career as a Mike Tice’s blocking TE is over?
I’m assuming Greg Estandia has improved, is a little big younger and has more “potential” etc… what do you guys think?
by alsonot on Aug 17, 2009 12:00 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Guess so… HOWEVER, I could see maybe Zach Miller going out in the slot a little… Kind of like a Dallas Clark.

Am I the only person in the world who likes Mo Williams over Tony Pashos?
I’m not a Pashos fan though. He’s too undisciplined in my opinion.
by Blair72 on Aug 17, 2009 3:30 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I dont like either one of them. But Pashos run blocking is better then Mo Williams’s. Mo has been getting his butt handed to him by Terrance and Attiyah.
by floridafalcons#63 on Aug 17, 2009 3:34 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Wow, I didn't know that man. That's good to know
So, on that same level, has Attiyah really been a beast in training camp?
by Blair72 on Aug 17, 2009 3:37 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He could be a starter, he certainly can plug up the middle

I wouldn't be surprised
if we only keep 5 WR’s either.

on this team... there's a chance
I think the question becomes who might you loose if they don’t make the roster. I doubt anyone is waiting to poach our 6th -8th WR prospects….

Thats what the Cleveland Browns thought about their 6th rounder

I like it for the most part
I really would like Russell Allen be on the roster and brock bolen to go to PS or Washington gets cut and he stays on. I wonder tho, do you think we’ll trade Rob Meier?

A reoccuring theme tho is we like too many UDFA and new guys
to want to let them go, so Practice Squad and backup spots are a whirlwind of possibilities.
