Colts vs Jaguars 2nd Half Thread

(Wtf, we had live access to AP Photos in the preseason)

7-6 Colts at Halftime. Both offenses have had their share of mistakes. Biggest thing the Jaguars need to do is actually force the Colts off the field on third down. Colts only failed to convert 1 3rd down in the 1st half.

I hope Tra comes on

Monroe is not experienced enough yet. Hopefully, bringing Tra on won’t dent Monroe’s confidence though.

Stats and a franchise record!!!!

The 63-yard attempt was the longest in franchise history. Scobee attempted a 60-yarder on Dec. 5 vs. Pittsburgh. Vic Ketchman
Garrard is 10 of 14 for 80 yards and an 85.4 passer rating. He’s been efficient and error-free. Manning is 15 of 21 for 175 yards, one interception and a 76.5 passer rating.

I'm pissed, but hey

This was the first game of 15 this year. The o-line back in 07 were beat like a drum the first couple of weeks, and they rebounded huge and led the Jags on a huge run.

Remember, this was the o-lines first game together. With 2 rookies, 2 guys that hadn’t played in basically 1 1/2, and an aging center it will take some time for the mojo on offense to happen. But it will happen.

I was only able to watch the last few minutes of the game, but if you thought the Jags would hold Indy to 14 points would you have believed it? This is a stepping stone. Remember, the season is long and the team is young. They’ll screw up, but in the end the Jags will be better for this game.

Ignore the hype; look at the results.

Unbearable .. Unwatchable.

Jaguars:

Defense:

  • Defensive Secondary Watches Receivers Catch The Football!
  • Defense Doesn’t Bump Receivers on Way Out!!
  • Defense Can’t Attack the QB … just bump arms and play enough to get paid.
  • Same old BEND AND BREAK Defense. Can’t even stop 5-yard passes.

Offense:

  • Play-Calling Absolutely Stinks, As Always — No need to even fax the play to the opposition.
  • Garrard is pretty good, but don’t fool yourself, he chokes when it counts — Hey David, take a lesson from that red-shirt freshman QB from USC.

Special Teams:

  • No one cares to run the ball back.. just trot it back and fall into the tacklers.

IT’S LIKE THEY’VE ALREADY AGREED WITH THE OTHER TEAM.

ABSOLUTELY NO GUTS, NO BACKBONE, AND NO WINNING DETERMINATION.
EVERYONE IS PAID, THEY DON’T REALLY CARE.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE … TYPICAL JACKSONVILLE.

DEL RIO — YOUR DAY IS DONE! KEEP SMILING, LOSER.

The late 4th and 1

Kind of surprised me a bit how they actually were pumped and got a stop for a change but the offense of course had to screw it up

Why don't we look at some positives?

1. We had four rookies starting at key positions – LT, RT, CB and DT. The offensive tackles went against one of the best DE tandems in football today and pulled out an okay performance. Okay, not great. But heck – Freeney and and Mathis get by even the best tackles in the league.

Cox had some great plays – and sometimes Wayne got away from him – not because of speed or athleticism, but rather experience. Knighton didn’t do as well as I personally expected of him against the interior of the Indy line… but that’s okay. :)

2. Holt is still a force to be afraid of (for other teams). Other than him, though, the receivers failed to impress. There were too many dropped balls or miss-positioning.

3. Garrard looked /good/. Well… he actually looked great early, and all those times he shook off sacks. The speaks well of his off-season training. In the fourth he had a lot of pressure on him. Too much. He did his best, believe, and I was satisfied with his performance.

4. We held the Colts to 14 points. Two touchdowns. And those didn’t come easy for them. I liked it. I look forward and see a bright spot in our future. Sure, the team has kinks. But those will work themselves out, I believe. I can’t wait to see next weeks game.

I see no reason not to have hope for this team

We've revamped our entire roster

and still almost beat the Colts. I think we played pretty good. I didn’t like the play calling for most of the game. Not enough protection for Garrard. Need more pressure on the opposing quarterback…

But Cox had a great first game. I mean, great in the sense that it was his first ever NFL regular season game. Sure, he had some miscues, but who cares? Hope for the future. We’ll get ’em next time.

I don’t either if the majority of the Jags fans look at this game and think: “Ah, poop! Another shoddy season!”

It was one game in which the players played toe-to-toe with one of our biggest rivals during what we all know is the start of a rebuilding year. I was extremely pleased. Sad we didn’t win, yes, but pleased nonetheless.

I agree totally

I wasn’t expecting a win here but was hopeful. The fact that it was still uncertain at the end was a good result.

Looked Good

Really we were just a 2 pt conversion away from putting colts in a crappy position.

I'm here

Gonzo will probably be out for a while but most likely not the whole season.

How do you think we did?

I think we did Great for almost half a new team what do you think?

by Miss.Shortjag on Sep 13, 2009 6:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

We did very good for a team that went 5-11 last year.

i think with better pass protection we would of won this game. Cox was awesome and was one of the bright spots today.

I hope Drew’s knee is better by next week, I am watching the game for the 2nd time and i seen where he has favored it a lot of times

I don’t understand why they do not put the jag’s out on the NFL network the way they should. I was watching it the other night and was not happy with the way they was talking about the upcoming game with the colts and jags, they did not say ONE word about the jags.
