James Wyche out; Jeremy Navarre in
The Jaguars have released DE James Wyche and activated undrafted rookie DE Jeremy Navarre. I just got a text from the Jaguars about this about 30 seconds ago. I'm a little surprised, because it's really out of left field. Can someone provide a little analysis for this because I'm not understanding much? If Navarre is a better player why was he not on the final 53 over Wyche? Did one week of regular season practice make the coaches change their mind?

They also signed another DE
Zach Potter to the practice squad.
Ht: 6’7
Wt: 280
40: 4.9
Bench: 20 reps
4-3 end type? Gain some weight & he might even be able to play DT in a 4-3 too.

I think it has something to do with scheme
and maybe also have to do with the way they looked in practice. Navarre is a Paul Spicer type 4-3 end. Wyche is more of a I don’t know. He’s just not a great defensive linemen in general, IMO. Personally I’d rather have Mincey instead of Navarre or Wyche.

Shuffling the line-up
look for the Jags to change line-ups each game depending on opponent.
I really like the Zach Potter pick-up. Made it to final cuts with Jets.
Wyche given opportunity and fell flat in Indy. IMO
