Troy Williamson out for year

Per league sources, Troy Williamson will be sidelined for the year with an arm injury. In a matter of one game we have lost two starting recievers, one cut because he couldn't catch in the endzone and the other due to injury. I do feel a little bad for Williamson, he was looking very impressive in the preseason and made a nice play yesterday had he not fumbled. Our recievers are looking thin and it's just a matter of time before Sims-Walker is hurt again, so don't be surprised if we bring in some help. Marvin Harrison anyone?

No one worth bringing in

Now it’s time for Thomas and Dillard to be active, and Underwood might be on his way to the roster, too. Gene wouldn’t have signed anyone anyway except maybe some practice squad depth.

In Gene We Trust.

Amen brother!

We don’t need free agent WR and Harrison is WAY too expensive for only one or maybe two years that he has left in the tank

Oh I agree

Though I believe we need to bring in at least one more experienced receiver. Marvin is old, expensive, and has been rumored to shoot people. I just couldn’t think of anyone else…

I agree that he is good; but be honest, their Defense was in a PREVENT defense… I will NOT give him ANY props until he does it throughout a whole game… I am a walker fan, but im just stating the facts…

Ok…? your point? (not trying to be sarcastic; im just asking, I dont understand)

They were not

in prevent the hole time he was making plays. His td catch was against a jail break blitz. And if the Cards were playing prevent he sure did a good job of getting behind some people.

4 WR and TE set

TE blocking and 4 WR spreading the defense. Surely one of them would be open.

Also,

playing off is not playing prevent. I watched the game. In a prevent you drop a lot of people and you don’t let anyone get behind you. You don’t rush 6 people at the QB, and call it a prevent defense. That’s called attacking the QB.

by Ewdtrey on Sep 21, 2009 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, but...

who made the defender miss the tackle?

by Ewdtrey on Sep 21, 2009 7:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Heck even

Vic said the weren’t playing prevent.

I agree they were playing prevent at times, rarely. But it’s usually mixed in throughout games anyhow, especially on 3rd and 20 etc. A situation we were in a few times during the game.

No one gets accolades for beating a Prevent Defense.

I remember Coughlin would kill me when he did that crap.

Up by 14. Middle of 4th Quarter. Prevent. Jaguars Loss. WTF!!!

I wish we could get a task master like coughlin
