Senior Bowl Week Thoughts and Weigh Ins
Click Here to View the Full Weigh In Results
While SBN doesn't have any real official presence there, that doesn't mean there isn't still a lot to talk about this week at the Senior Bowl. This is when the draft talk really begins and when we can start to really figure out where players stand. I'll try to catch as much of the practices on NFLN as I can, though as always, check out Mocking The Draft.
The Player who I'll have my eyes on are
1. Mike Iupati, G, Idaho
The first thing that jumped out this week was Iupati's arms. At 35 inches, they're absolutely massive. Only Andre Smith had larger arms out of last year's top O-line prospects. While Iupati has been graded as the top guard in the country, the WAC isn't known as a hotbead for defensive lineman. I think he has the most to gain or lose this week. If he comes up big, he'll get a first round grade and may even convince a team or two he can play LT. If he flops, well, ask Duke Robinson.
2. Myron Rolle, S, Florida State
The Oxford scholar came in fit and trim at weigh ins today, a good sign he's serious about committing to the NFL. Now his job is to show he hasn't lost much while being away from the game for a year. A late 1st/2nd round prospect last year, he may vault himself back into that range with a good showing. More than likely, I think he's going in the 3rd-4th round.
3. Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
You think he wouldn't be on this list. I'm stealing this from somewhere, but this game might as well be named the Tebowl. Every pass he hits on will be validation for his QB dreams and every off target pass will be seen as proof he can't get it done. Or atleast that's what the ESPN talking heads will make it out to be.
4. Nate Allen, S, USF
Allen had an excellent career at USF and I think is the most underrated safety prospect in the draft. He has a chance to vault himself into the #2 spot after Eric Berry.
5. Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan
Many of the same questions as Tebow, but not nearly the hype. LeFevour is also stuck in "enigma" land right now. A good perfomance lands him maybe as high as the 2nd round, a bad showing mean's he'll be waiting for a phone call Saturday afternoon.

well the trade went through
I got two 5th rounders
I’m thinking Myron Lewis, Safety, Vanderbilt with my first one and Eric Olsen, OL, Notre Dame with my 2nd one if they are available.
Thoughts?

Eric Olsen
Is really good value in the 5th, and so is Myron Lewis. Lewis can play corner as well, but will probably end up playing free safety.

Players I'd like to see more of(North)
1. Jared Odrick
2. Mardy Gilyard with new routes
3. Ducasse
4. Both LeFevour and Pike
5. Graham
6. Iupati a little. Probably wont last long enough to have value.
7. Taylor Price very precise, good hands, enough speed
8. Kyle Wilson-What are his hands like?
9. Alex Carrington- Doesn’t really fit our D, but he looks good so far.
Ducasse actully slamed a DE during the drills
Odrick was impressive as well!

Ducasse
looked very raw today. And his feet didn’t look all that great either.
Graham looks as good as ever.
Iupati looks like he’s only a guard.
Carrington looks like he caught more people’s eyes today. I thought I saw something in him.
Price looked a little stiffer today.
Odrick looks like he will be drafted by a 34 team before he will have enough value for our 43.
Mardy Gilyard
was Bumbles McGee with all his dropped passes in day 1. Guy couldn’t hold onto to the football. I think he’s trying to catch Minnesota’s eye…
Yeah I heard
but I’ve seen him time and time again catch the ball. Probably just having a bad stretch. Who knows if he’ll get out of it this week.
It's not all bad...
A bad week (maybe the nerves?) might just bump him down making him a draft gem for a team who targets him cause the guy’s got a good future in the slot and as a returner.
I really like Daryl Washington LB from TCU
He is a little small at 226 I believe but if any of you watched his bowl game you will understand why I want him bad… too bad he is an early second round grade by most.
John
your source who sent the “where the Jaguars sending scouts” infos not said anything about which players the Jaguars interviewed in Alabama at the senior bowl so far?
