but the more I think about it, the more I think it's something that we ought to try Sunday
I think this week more than ever is the time we bring the Wing T back to the NFL.
Full House, Wishbone, triple option, empty the whole damn kitchen sink and watch the first 2 hour football game in the modern era.
We're in about as dire straits with our quarterback situation as we've ever been. We've got a quarterback who last played a regular season snap in New Orleans when he relieved Ken Stabler, if memory serves. His backup is Patrick Ramsey who is underwhelming, but a Tulane graduate so ideally he can learn the Koetter system quickly, and who knows, maybe get a third option vice the two choices David Garrard gets from the OC in the headset.
Anyway, back to our crisis, could you envision Bouman with MJD to the left, Jennings to the right and Jones in the center? I mean it reads like a country song; Jennings with the carry, Jones with the carry, Lewis with the block, Miller to the right, and like country music, this tandem would bore the Chiefs to sleep or at least submission. Plus think of it this way, Charlie Weis will have flashbacks to the beatings he endured at the hands of Navy and Georgia Tech while at Notre Dame. The T would be so damn elementary no one would know what to do and the O line would salivate as we are a hell of a better run blocking team than pass blocking.
What do you think, stupid enough to work? Activate all backs, bring in a steady diet of tight ends as extra blockers and maybe a pass or 2 to keep KC honest.
