Report: Dre Moore visits the Jaguars
Aaron Wilson of NationalFootballPost reports that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Dre Moore met with the Jaguars on Wednesday.
A 4th round draft pick in 2008, the 6'4, 305 pound DT spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad. It wasn't until week 10 of 2009 that he was finally promoted to the active roster where he accumulated 5 tackles over the final 7 games of the season.
Following the drafting of DTs Gerald McCoy and Brian Price with consecutive picks, Moore became expendable and was released in final cuts.
When the Jaguars signed LB Slade Norris to the practice squad, they subsequently released CB John Destin still leaving one open practice squad slot. It is possible that Moore could fill the final practice squad slot.

Is this normal?
I mean do all the other NFL teams have a weekly switch of 2-3-4 players from the Active Roster to the PS to being release? Or is the Jaguars activities this year unique?
We might be unique, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing.
It’s basically a tryout for these players. They get a week or so to show that they’ve got and if they don’t have it they are replaced by someone else. Gene Smith would certainly leave a player on the practice squad if he thought they had what it takes.
