Jaguars sign DL Nate Collins off Giants practice squad, Aaron Kampman to IR

According to his Twitter page, the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed defensive lineman Nate Collins off the New York Giants practice squad. To make room on the 53-man roster, the Jaguars will place defensive end Aaron Kampman on injured reserve. Collins was originally released by the Giants on September 4th. He was actually claimed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they put a higher priority on defensive tackle Landon Cohen, so Collins cleared waivers and signed to the Giants practice squad.
Collins played his college football at the University of Virginia. He ended his senior season with the Cavaliers with 77 tackles, from the nose tackle position. Collins was not invited to the NFL combine last February, but in April prior to the draft he was worked out by the Jaguars.

I really do not
Want us to try to change to a 3-4 mid season, it would ruin everything, plus we do not even know who is going to coach the team next season so lets just wait on the 3-4, as of right now we play 4-3 and Collins is a 4-3 3 tech guy like Alualu, and Smith he is a good addition to the team.
in my view
to have a good 3-4, you better have some damn good d linemen and an even better secondary. We are so, what’s the word, pedestrian, and the stats bear that out. With our secondary, it would be signing our own death warrant to go 3-4. Didn’t have the personnel then and don’t have it now. I say we see what these rookies can do, especially as they are still relatively fresh and other teams have had their guys in place for half a season of bumps and bruises and bad habits.
Alfie i gotta know
do you follow everyone on twitter??? i mean i dont have a twitter account so im not sure how it works but i thought you had to follow someone to get all their posts, maybe im wrong

I don’t follow everyone, but I follow people who typically pump information. Paul Kuharsky re-tweeted that tweet, and I follow Paul K so I saw it.

WE ARE JAGUARS.......FEAR OUR ROAR!!!!!!
LOL...
2 of my cousins went to UVa and dropped A LOT of money to get a degree there. It’s supposedly one of the best schools in the country…what’s up with this cat?
Spelling words properly
no matter where you are writing isn’t very hard. Its another example of the dumbing down of this country. I really don’t want to get on a non football rant, but not pointing it out is akin to saying its acceptable to spell words however you please. As a former English major and a teacher of English it is a real pet peeve of mine.
That said, I hope this guy is a beast on the field. He seems like he is fired up.
Go Jaguars.
Well, I hope you teach your kids the difference between “its” and “it’s”.
Just sayin’.

I think he just needs a better phone
my Droid Incredible would never let me spell that word that way.
DG is the best we have and help is not on the way. I realize he's not perfect, but I feel a lot better about him at QB than I do the O-Line, DB's, or LB's ability to cover a TE.
We will get zero pressure...
…. on the QB, but at least we’ll have the best spelling defense in the land.
