As of right now the organization has the rights to any player drafted by the Jaguars in the 2009 NFL draft until 2013. Obviously there are some players that are playing above their contracts so what has been the Jaguars stance on mid-round guys' second contracts.
I understand they'll probably let Britton and Monroe play out their contracts and I'm not screaming suggesting the organization should sign players like Mike Thomas and Terrance Knighton to huge multi-million dollar deals. I am wondering what the procedure for such player's second contracts is. Do they wait them out or try to extend their contract for possibly a cheaper rate. I'm interested, because I want to make sure the former gems stay in teal forever.
