I'm becoming an increasing bigger fan of Ryan Mallet.
Big arm, but guy, seems to have a few things figured out. I had a few minutes so I thought I'd start a little post to assembling misc. articles that stood out to me. Some seems very genuine, others are the usual draft related PR:
#1 - throws receives open -"I've got to the point with Ryan that if he puts it on my left shoulder, then I know a defender is on my right side because he wants me to turn that way. To have that kind of accuracy at this level is unbelievable." -- Kelly Whiteside
#2 - already calling audibles - "He can make throws that most college teams don’t even have in their playbook. Mallett was given leeway to audible at the line of scrimmage"
#3 - genuine love of family, football, and hard work (Gene guy)
"What was your first job: I mowed lawns from when I was seven years old until I graduated high school.
What is your favorite food: Meat and potatoes.
What are some of your hobbies: I don’t have a lot of free time, because usually I’m watching film. But, when I have some time, I love hunting, fishing and playing golf.
What’s your most prized possession: The relationship with my family; I have a huge family.
What’s something you can’t live without: Football; what would I do without football?
Who’s the most instrumental person in your life:There are four people, both of my grandfathers, my Dad and who I consider my second dad – my high school quarterbacks coach, Coach Surratt. "
Just wish he had better pocket presence!
