How fun is this?
The Jaguars are in first place in the AFC South, and the arrow for this team is pointing sky high. How fun is it to be a fan right now?
I have my keys to our recent success.
Gene Smith said on his radio show that he believes that those closest to the ball has the most effect on the outcomes of games. This has never been more true in most recent weeks. The old Vince Manuwai is back, baby. Meester has shown to be a great asset in the interior line. Uche doesn't get enough credit for how GOOD he is. For all of the success the MJD has had in the past five weeks he has to give the big boys in front of him a big slap on the rear for their recent excellence.
Knighton is a probowl caliber DT. Alualu played one heck of the game against the Titans and has shown that he was not a "reach" but a player that could be dominant for years to come! Mincey and Lane have played much better than Harvey and Groves of last year. I have also made a habit of watching Harvey every time he is in and I have to say that he is playing better than before. Not, great or top ten worthy but he has at least made some push and has done a good amount to get hands off of him, which I have never seen from him in his first 2 years. I thought the loss of AK74 was going to cripple the pass rush and it has lacked but the D-line has impressed.
Our Secondary is coming together, Carey is getting better. Mathis amongst all the criticism, which I have added to, is still an asset to our defense. I think that he is a much better cover 2 CB than a man CB and the change in defensive philosophy has exposed him a bit. Cox may become our next Mathis, meaning a shut down corner.
Now lets get to the controversial stuff.
I think that Jack and his coaching staff has done a great job this year. Dirk Koetter is a fantastic coach and I would think that getting rid of either of them would be a mistake. Jack has been an pretty good coach here since 2003, and that has been with talent limited teams. We have maximized the talents of the players we have had and with a GM that is putting better talent on the field we are seeing that this team has responded to his message and is becoming good. So I will stick my neck out and say that I am in the keep Jack bandwagon. I feel that he has been great, I could not pick a better coach for this franchise at this junction. Shannahan? come on, what a mess. He would have been seen as a failure if it wasn't for Elway. Fisher? Cower? Who do you want?
What a great game and have a great week Jaguar fans! Go Jaguars, Gene Smith may be a "freaking genius" as Vic has pointed out.

Great points.
This team is getting better and better weak in, weak out. I’m shocked the d-line is doing as well as it is with the loss of Kampman. Win the rest of the AFC games and the playoffs should be automatic. And one more thing, can we get a woot-woot for MJD. In his postgame interview, he gives credit to his blockers, as he should. But he should be taking a lot of credit himself for his recent performances. Oh yeah, and another woot for Jennings, he’s making the most of his chances.

i like gene smith, you cant argue that jack has done a bad job, we had a (non-playoff calibur team) before the season, and look what weve done. I LOVE how much confidence he has in our team especially our o-line, garrard, and our backs in going for almost every 4th and short, and we may be the best 4th down converting team in the nfl. Our d-line is going to be real good in the future, secondary is growing, im loving the play of cox, he looks more and more confident every game. It seems as though the main thing we lack right now besides our secondary still being not the best, is a #1 wr. MSW hasnt been that guy this year, and Mike thomas to me is a solid #2 WR. I LOVE Zach miller and how they put him to use as of late, you can tell the kid wants the ball. Marcedes has been a productive redzone guy and 3rd down conversion target. Our linebackers have been hungry, dominant on the run, just a little slow on the pass ive found. Overall, SOLID win guys, and i hope we don’t take the raiders to lightly, and pull off a win next week at Everbank..but lets just enjoy this next week as instead of last week, we can watch nfl network the whole week knowing that we can watch our highlights, rather than turn our heads saying i cant believe we blew it..
lovin this guys
