Talk here for all things Super Bowl related. My prediction, Saints 27 Colts 24 in OT. Saints get the ball first and kick a FG, leading to months of Bill Polian complaining and eventually getting OT rules changed.

But us Americans enjoy relatively cheap prices on everything because of sweat shops.

Not sure why...

I’m thinking it won’t be a mondo scoring game. I’m thinking 27-24 Saints.

Ignore the hype; look at the results.

If they aired the Tebow comersial

why they didn’t aired this?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VMqHb03p74

It's one thing to air a conservative, pro-life message

But to air a gay dating site? We Christian conservatives have to have our cake and eat it too. If you air something WE don’t like we’ll let CBS know about it.

Ignore the hype; look at the results.

by harperslaw on Feb 7, 2010 6:58 PM EST up reply actions

I showed this (mancrunch) to one of my friends

Who is by no means a conservative, in fact he’s a party animal. He was visiting, and I pulled it up on youtube. He looked at me uncomfortably and said, “what are you showing me, man?”. I thought it was funny, he acted like I was funny. I don’t know how the Tebow ad could make you uncomfortable. It’s not funny, a little boring maybe, but I don’t see the controversy.

Vae Victis!

by viator on Feb 7, 2010 7:05 PM EST up reply actions

Is that the original Tebow ad, or has its message been "toned down."

I was listening to talk radio a week or so ago, and a spokesperson for planned parenthood was just blasting the ad; she went just short of calling for a boycott of CBS if it aired. Listening to her it sounded like the ad was a bunch of pro-life nuts calling for the overturning of Roe v Wade right there on the air.

I didn’t see a problem with the ad; I never heard the word abortion, chose life/pro life, etc… The undertone was of course there, but hey, free speech right?

I think that are just blowing this kind of stuff out of proportion. I see much more “controversial” things on MTV than the Man Crunch ad.

Ignore the hype; look at the results.

by harperslaw on Feb 7, 2010 7:10 PM EST up reply actions

It boils down to the fact that many on both sides subscribe to "Free speech for me, but not for thee"

The moment they’re told to shut up, it’s an issue of free speech. If the opposition gets a chance, it’s a travesty.
Either way, CBS opened a massive can of worms with that ad and if they’re going to allow one they should’ve allowed both.
Personally, I hope after this year the NFL just tells CBS/NBC/ESPN/FOX that they can’t sell ad time to political interest groups during the Super Bowl and be done with it.

by Jonathan Loesche on Feb 7, 2010 7:15 PM EST up reply actions

You're exactly right

Live and let live. Let either side spend ridiculous amounts of their money on ads…
Let the people decide for themselves.

by viator on Feb 7, 2010 7:26 PM EST up reply actions

Let people decide for themselves?

That’s up there with telling parents to monitor what they’re children watch on tv/online and teaching them the differences between real life and what they see on tv.

It’s so much more convenient to let the government/corporations tell you what to look at and what to think.

Ignore the hype; look at the results.

Here's a question:

Suppose the Colts end up winning, but Peyton Manning only goes 17-40 for 197 yards, 1 td, 1 pick. Help his legacy or hurt it?
