With the 18th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select DT Dan Williams, Tennesee.

The Steelers could use some help on the offensive side of the ball but with Casey Hampton getting up there in age and NT being a premium position for a 3-4 team, the pick here is pretty simple, especially with the pretty good combine numbers Dan put up. They should be excited that he made it past a couple other teams, especially Miami now that Jason Ferguson has been suspended.

Not to mention

Ziggy is a DE and Dan Williams would serve as a NT, and Casey Hampton is on a short last deal.

Great pick

He's got a lot of upside

KC Joyner did an interesting piece for ESPN Insider: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/insider/news/story?id=4778474

To sum up Dan Williams is inconsistent, but the talent is definitely there.. Per Joyner his hype as a solid run stuffer may be a little overstated, but he actually is a much better pass rusher than people give him credit for. He doesn’t reach Suh territory, but in college he had a similar impact (qb hurries, qb hits, throw aways, etc…) as Gerald McCoy.

He has a good swim move and spin move he likes to employ.

He has struggled with his weight, and that could be part of the reason for his inconsistency. As a freshman he weighed over 350 pounds, but got his weight down. After the 2008 season he went back up to 340 pounds.

Great pick by the Steelers. He’ll have to work to keep his weight down, and he’ll need to be coached up a bit, but the potential is definitely there.

Ignore the hype; look at the results.

He could be dominant

if he could stay in shape and if he could learn to use his hands well.

Can't go wrong

Steelers would be lucky to have Williams fall past all those 3-4 teams.

I wonder if he can play in a 4-3

And if he is a 1 year wonder or not.

Great pic by the Steelers!

Yes he can

play in the 43. He can be really good in either one.
