With the 21st selection, the Cincinnati Bengals chose Tight End Jermaine Gresham from Oklahoma.
The Bengals use needs drafting instead of BAP and TE and WR are their biggest needs. With the recent signing of Antonio Bryant, Mike Brown will go TE in this spot. Personally, I think this is too high for a player coming off surgery to repair torn cartlidge in his right knee in October, but this is about what I think the Bengals will do and this fits their drafting profile. (Personally, I think a good RB for Jim Anderson--one of the best position coaches in the NFL--to use would be a smarter decision, but Mike Brown isn't going to listen to me/lol.) The injury won't keep the Bengals from having a slight stretch here, but it's been since the days of Dan Ross that the Bengals have had a decent pass catching tight end.

I agree...
That the Bengals might go with Gresham in this situation.

I don't know the Bengals at all
This seems like a position they could fill in round 2. Any chance they reach for Golden Tate? Not sure Bryant is the stop gap or the future.
The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall.

I wouldn't say they are
completely needs based. I’ve noticed however that they draft players that have fallen due to “faulty” character; but they usually have a lot of hype leading up to the draft and usually are physically gifted players.
