i can not make my pick for the chargers

So
I’m due by midnight tomorrow?

Dont pick Jacoby Ford just because he is fast.............
Even though that is realistic……hahahahahaha

Yeah, I’m considering Trindon Holliday. Haha. For real though, I got a few in mind.

Thanks for doing it Brian.

I would be ok with that.
I saw a couple of mocks that had him dropping near or in the 20s. SF will take him with one of their 2 I have to believe.

I have always believed that RBs are a dime a dozen, even more than WRs.
You can find great runners in later rounds or even undrafted (Priest Holmes, Willie Parker, Pierre Thomas). You seldom find monster DTs and OTs and such that late. A RB at #10 would be a waste of a pick.

I wonder what the
Jag pick will be now….I’d go with Earl Thomas. 5 picks a year means more to me than a DE that isn’t even as good a prospect as Harvey. We’ve learned that you can’t sack Manning often. But a FS with instincts like Earl’s can change the face of the AFC South. The DE’s have more value later on in the draft.
Dez Bryant may be the BAP talent wise, IMO; but with the character subtracting from his value and being a WR(A nonpremium position) Earl should be the pick. He just needs to wrap up more often. Otherwise he’s easily worth a top 10 pick.
I hate it when...
Free agency changes my picks for certain teams during a mock like this. Interesting, though. :)

Sorting through a bunch of mocks
They all seem to show a run on QBs and OTs (after Suh and McCoy) in the 9 picks before us (which is very likely). There’s a real chance that we see both Eric Berry and Joe Haden fall to us. That would be absolutely incredible.
It would be.
I’d be the happiest man alive if we had the can to choose between Berry, Haden, McClain and trading down. Not going to happen that all three are left… but still.
by alwaysforgiven821 on Mar 7, 2010 3:43 AM EST up reply actions
I think we as a group
need to realize that McClain isn’t much of a prospect for our 43 defense. I don’t think he’s any better than Spikes, if you don’t account for character.
I agree with this.
McClain’s lateral movement isn’t good enough to be a top 10 pick. This is a smaller issue for a 3-4, but in our 4-3, it’s paramount that he can cover from sideline to sideline.
Dan Williams, DT Tennessee
I haven’t seen a lot on him on BCC, but are there any thoughts on taking the #3 DT as an eventual replacement for Big John? I would think McClain, Berry & Haden would all be off the board and we wouldn’t be able to trade down for this to happen. Even so, 10 might be high for him, but it’s not a huge reach. Plug him in next to Knighton and be set at DT for years to come.
Williams is basicly a clone of Knighton, I think Price would be a better compliment
by Jonathan Loesche on Mar 8, 2010 1:14 PM EST up reply actions
My understanding
is also that Williams is not a penetrating DT, more of a 3-4 road block DT. That is, however, with limited knowledge of his body of work.

I think your assessment is spot on.
He’s a big, run blocking 3-4 DT. It’s kind of a waste to play him as in a 4-3 next to another run blocking DT. Certainly not worth the 10th in our scheme.
He could be more of a
1 gapper if he would learn to use his hands more. He has the ability if he’s willing. He could end up being the best DT from this draft class if he works at it.
He makes sense as trade bait
A 3-4 team might want to hop in front of the Broncos and Dolphins to get the best NT in the draft.

Shouldn't we be further along?
I thought we were suppose to be more around pick 18 by now, not 15…?
by alwaysforgiven821 on Mar 8, 2010 11:11 PM EST reply actions
Today was scheduled to be 15 and 16
15 just got in and if #16 somehow gets here in the next 42 minutes we’ll be back on the pace.

Wondering if the draft window should be moved to every 6 hours. Should one of us make the pick for 17 if it isn’t in by noon?

Well, if everyone picked on time, we'd be fine.
I wonder if we could come up with a way of informing people who aren’t here every day that it is their pick. Maybe if everyone gave their email one could be sent the night before the time they are suppose to pick?
by alwaysforgiven821 on Mar 10, 2010 4:55 PM EST up reply actions
Might to have to make Pittsburgh's pick as well. Dude hasn't logged on here in 2 weeks.

This is only the first run-through, right?
Maybe we can find more active people? Or have some of the more active guys do two?

I think if you miss your turn
Your team should be penalized. The next team should get your pick.
Vae Victis!
I don't have any specific ideas, but it'd be great if we find a way to do the first 3 rounds
I don’t mind if some people pick for more than one team.
I'll do the Falcons pick tomorrow after school if the 18th pick is made

Can I get in on this the second time around?
or are the teams locked now?
I don't believe there is a lock on any teams...
But if there are, we had 3 teams of which those who were allocated could not make the pick so they are presently open.

It was I
Had been playing with some formating and copy\pasted the wrong line of code.
The Vikes are very happy with the way this draft board is playing out. Based on who they thought would be available at their pick, their top three players have not been taken.

Indeed.
Two of the top three I had for the Jets are still up, though there’s still about five picks to go…
by alwaysforgiven821 on Mar 14, 2010 4:54 PM EDT up reply actions
What intrigues me..
,and I look to FootballsFuture to aide in understanding team needs, is that the bulk of the teams ahead of the Vikes have a primary need of an OT along with LB. However, I’m not sure there is first round value left at those spots so these picks could go anywhere. One of my three will be gone based on BAP.
And as I type I see the Cards took my CB. :)

Ok if you wanted me to pick ill just say it and you can ignore me if you want.
With The 28th Pick of the NFL draft the San Diego Chargers select Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno State.
I was very tempted to take Rolando McClain because there is no way in the real thing that he falls out of the 1st round. However I feel that RB is just a little bit more of a Need for them than CB and they will be able to get a decent CB in the 2nd. RB is a need after they lost LdT and and have no idea what will happen with Sproles. For one Matthews will give them a solid back who can play every down if needed or in this case the bigger lowed that sproles can’t handle.
