Around SBN: Lakers Should Trade Andrew Bynum So He Doesn't Go To Waste

With the twelfth pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Earl Thomas, safety from Texas. The Dolphins bolster their pass defense with Thomas, playing behind two young and improving cornerbacks in Sean Smith and Vontae Davis. My original pick here was Sergio Kindle LB/DE from Texas. But since the signing of Dansby, the Dolphins have addressed the need at LB since Porter was cut. I was sure Zoltan would have taken Rolando McClain with the 11th pick and Kindle fits better into the 3-4 scheme. Next on my board was Dez Bryant. The Dolphins need a true #1 receiver, but Golden Tate and Arrelious Benn do not have any value at pick number 12.

yeah Gibril was getting tasted last year....

and it’s not like they didn’t have a pass rush……. No picks at all. He was way more effective in Oakland.

12 is probably a little high for Thomas, but you’re right, after they grabbed Dansby, they really don’t need McClain. And as a Longhorns fan, I’m pretty high on Thomas as it is.

I wanna know why

that’s high for Thomas. He’s every bit as good as Berry in pass coverage, if not better. Is it because he’s not as well known for as long?
I don’t mean to point you out, but I struggle with where people rank players sometimes.

I personally like this pick a lot. And I congratulate you(Frank) for making a pick I hadn’t thought about yet. I would’ve gone NT, but this makes a lot of sense to me.

Their pass rush and rush defense was better than most last year......

I think the pass coverage suffered because of poor safety play(sound familiar???) Plus, the draft is super deep on the defensive side of the ball. Thanks for the support!!!!

possable BUT

Dansby does not solve our LBer issues and I still expect a OLBer to be Parcells 1st pick though maybe after trading down some

I was thinking the same thing.......

But the Dansby signing really shook things up for me. I hear a lot of Miami fans are high on Cameron Wake and your likely to get Jason Taylor back.

+1

There will be some OLB’s in the draft after the first couple of rounds.

Agreed.

I see Sean Weatherspoon slipping into the mid-second, though I could be way off.
