Comcast War Room: Updated List of Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Interests

As announced previously in this space, Comcast has generously agreed to support the best NFL community around -- us!  As part of that effort, between now and the end of the 2010 NFL season Comcast will be sponsoring a variety of special editorial and interactive features on our site.  They begin today with the launch of the Comcast HD War Room, your weekly destination for key draft insight and opinion.  Welcome!

We have compiled a list of players in the draft that the Jacksonville Jaguars have been linked to. We plan on posting this list, updated, each week and then the day of the draft on April 22nd. We will continue to notify our readers via twitter and FanShots on who the Jaguars schedule for visits and show interest in, but we figured everyone would like to have it all in one spot as well for quick reference. Follow the jump for the list of players. If we are missing a player, please leave it in the comments and it will be added on the next update on Monday. There are also links to the players in which a scouting report was done by a member of BCC, just click on their name.

Probably too late but...

No scouting report on Rusty Smith QB, FAU Jacksonville Native.

Great List!

It really makes Haden/ McClain look like first round front runners. Maybe that is based on McClain falling by chance and Haden in event of a trade down? Surprised a certain QB got no mention though.

QB's

were listed. We have conducted a private workout with Jimmy Clausen

A specific QB

Was not listed, but the Jags have been tied to his school’s pro day. It’s not that hard to figure out.

Haha

The Jaguars were at the Senior Bowl, the combine and the pro day. That’s their only connection to his pro day. Although, the Jaguars QB coach decided to attend and instead met with Tennessee QB Jonathan Crompton. Jack Del Rio wasn’t at the UF pro day either. Supposedly, the Jaguars spent that day at UF talking with Joe Haden and Maurkice Pouncey.

Diversions

Remember when you told me I was reading over a lot of coverage if I thought the Jags would draft Tebow? That was a good point because teams are always forthright about the draft and who they truly have interest in. They like to share their true intentions with the media. They’d never pull a lil’ slight of hand right?

3 days…

JIMMY CLAUSEN JUST SAID

on 1010xl that he did not have a private workout with the jags but he did say that they have expressed alot of interest. he has had private meetings with them and mentioned he likes mike shula alot. he said he would be a great fit in the jags offense

by duvaljag on Apr 19, 2010 3:30 PM EDT reply actions

I think

the Jags are interested in McCluster and GS would rather have him later than Spiller at 10.

Notice where the Safeties are slated?

It looks like all but one of the Safeties in the list are 6-7 round guys. The only one who isn’t, fits where we currently don’t have a pick. Man I hope we fix that position somehow…
