The media shapes the draft...

and when I say media, I'm speaking mostly about the websites that put out mock draft after mock draft. It is definitely a copy cat situation, where one sight sees another and uses it as a guide to who they think will be drafted where. McCoy, the tackle picked third, only averaged 2 tackles a game, yet he was slotted early on at the top of most mock drafts. As far as the level of competition he played against at Cal., many defensive line stars played at schools that weren't considered the big schools. Jared Allen is from Idaho State and Dwight Freeney came from Syracuse. I find it ludicrous that people would respect these beat writers opinion of the draft more than someone who was hired to the selecting. In Gene Smith's first chance at the draft, he hit a home run. People are applauding Denver for trading back and adding picks, however they still chose 2 players that most teams had going in the second round.(Tebow and the WR from GT) I have no problem with Alualu because I trust the film and I trust my own eyes.
