GM GENE SMITH IS REALLY NOT THAT GOOD OF A GM

WAKE UP JACKSONVILLE

people think Gene did good with our picks last year with Cox and Knighton but i tell you this they started only because they had no competion…Cox who else is gonna compete for the starting CB position when nobody is nothing better than 3rd string at best. And Knighton he only had to beat out a old Rob Mier who was never great as a starter and in some other teams would just be consider a regular "GUY"…so just because they started last year dont mean it was a great pick up….Cox was the 2nd worst CB in the league for passes thrown against him and passes completed against him almost 70% completion rate the QB’s had against him…is that really a great pick? Knighton was in that line up several times when teams ran right at him and QB’s set in the pocket with all day to throw,,,and he did not win many one on one match ups…so i ask is that a great pick???? people say Cox had alot of picks for a rookie…i remind you that so did Reggie Nelson but now look at him…dont judge a pick off one "OK" year and just because they started….because the truth is neither one of them would have started for probaly 85% of the other teams in the league….so i will sit back in wait and see if our picks turn out to be better then ones we passed up on like Michael Oher went late 1st round and only gave up 4 sacks last year….now see how many our all pro tackles gave up…Gene draft "SAFE GUYS" when the other GM’s are drafting Elite pro bowl caliber players….You guys need to stop being happy with getting a OK guy and start wanting an Elite guy….if Tyson come in and start all 16 games and give us 40 tackles and 3 sacks…everybody would say Gene was right to get him…those numbers are just ok but not for a great DT. and dont say give him time b/c it has been several rookies who have come in to the league and put up pro bowl numbers there rookie year…Just open up and realize our organization dont have 3-5 years for these guys to develope into good players by that time…Jacksonville want have a team....
