Breaking News: Jaguars reach agreement with LB Freddy Keiaho
Just a couple hours after announcing that they have rescinded their tender offer to Clint Ingram making him an unrestricted free agent, the Florida Times Union is reporting the Jaguars have agreed to a one year deal with former Colts linebacker Freddy Keiaho.
The 27 year old linebacker has spent his entire career in Indianapolis prior to signing with Jacksonville

Clint Ingram
He had such promise at the beginning of last season. It just doesn’t work out sometimes I guess.
Jaguars snatching up them Polynesians
Gene must’ve been watching that 60 Mins special… LOL
In all seriousness… this is starting to become a annual Gene Smith offseaseon pickup. Loving it! If me and my wife weren’t having a baby this year, I’d immediatly pick up season tickets again… Awesome move Gene!

I want to know
if this means that Durant will backup Morrison in the middle or Durrant and Keiaho will battle it out in OTA"s and camp for the starting OLB position
I think Durant is better...
But this gives us a quality backup at the position, with the departures of Ingram and Iwuh. He could battle for the starting position, but I don’t see how he’d beat out Smith, Durrant or Morrison.

Not trying to be politically incorrect....
but it took me 3 days to get Alualu correct, how does Keiaho break down phonetically? Gotta love how Gene Smith has rebounded after all the backlash after the first round, getting Morrison and Keiaho to go with all the young DL. I may be going out on a limb, but I think Reggie Nelson will make a good comeback this year(if he isn’t gone before the season for some reason). Its tough to defend NFL receivers when the QB has all day to find them.
Reggies
Problem is the lack of a fundamentally sound tackling technique. I hope he somehow finds it bc he sure as heck wasn’t an improving player last year. His arrow is pointing down not up.

since you folks know i’m lazy… what’s the reason for Keiaho’s drastic drop in production from 2008 to 2009??
Sean Jax Beach Bum
good question....
2 more games and almost 70 less tackles.
I'd really like to know
if someone has some inside knowledge on this. Not far from a 100 tackle season, though…
lol

Keiaho
imagine if we still had naeole and Chris Fuamatu-Ma’afala!
we could seriously consider changing our name to the islanders!!
haha i kid i kid…
OL Estes, who we picked up as a UDFA is also from Hawaii

I am really starting to get
EXCITED about this defense!!! And I saw McShay backing of GM Gene a little today on Mike and Mike. He said in a couple of years Alualu may be a top 10 lineman going to ProBowls, and then people will look back and say…hmmm, maybe he wasn’t a reach. He also confirmed that Miami was looking HARD at Alualu – so he may have been gone if we moved back too far.
Inside or Outside?
Guessing Outside because Gary is their inside, I think.
That’s because Keiaho sucks. He was a bench warmer for the Colts last season and played horribly the season prior to that. I can’t believe you people are excited to see Keiaho signed. It just goes to show how little you know about players from other teams.
I’m quite happy to see him go to the Jaguars. Enjoy, suckers!
There's a new blog in town, the 12th HorseMan.
i see intelligence is not a part of your plan, kingrichard… way to investigate before you postulate! (go ahead and look up that last word. we’ll wait)
Sean Jax Beach Bum
He maybe said it in a not so nice way
but he’s exactly right. Keiaho isn’t good. He’s a smart guy and he plays hard just lacks the talent it takes to start in the NFL. I hope maybe he can find his niche there, but if he plays like he has here, then you might be disappointed.
Our heads may be bloody, but they are unbowed. We will be back next year better than ever!
Indianapolis Colts News and Updates
coltsfan723… i appreciate you coming over here… i also went over to stampedeblue to find out why his production dropped so drastically between 08 and 09… just so kingrichard may know that not everyone is jumping up and down with joy for Keiaho… like you said, i hope he finds his niche here… thanks again…

Not you cuffs. I love you guys on here.

None of us expect him to be a starter
Or at least I don’t think so. He just provides solid depth for our linebacking corps.

I don't think
Anyone is “excited” about Keiaho. We are discussing what he means to the team, and the only “excited” I could find was about the defense in general, which most of us all are. We have a stout defense on paper. Whether or not it pans out isn’t up to us.
From what I’ve read of yours in the past, its really obvious you know a lot about players from other teams. Fantastic writing you do bro, really superb.
Douche bag.

Keiaho Role
Not sure what the fans think, but he was not brought in to be a starter. He is here to replace Iwuh. Meaning he will be a back up, and special teams.
Gene Smith is getting rid of all the bad apples. He wants high motor, good character guys.
Keiaho might not be talented enough to start, but the guy goes all out. Was a good special teamer.
I think Gene will be bringing in another LB as well, either within the week or after roster cut downs. Maybe both depending on what is out there.
Oe Noes!
I’ve always loved Keiaho
