PLAYERS Tyson Alualu Jacksonville Jaguars Round 1, Pick 10 Position: DT Class: 4Sr School: California Conference: Pacific-10 HT: 6-2.5 WT: 295 40 Time: 4.98 Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors after his junior and senior seasons. Total last year included 65/11.5/7.5 after 62/11/6 as a junior.

Positives: Strong, nasty defender with the ability to be used at several spots on the line. Displays good first-step quickness, keeps his pads low to the ground, and gets leverage on opponents. Breaks down well, rarely off his feet, and quickly locates the ball. Smart football player, keeps his feet driving on contact, and fires through gaps up the field. Consistently focused on or double teamed by opponents in the middle of the line. Displays good hand technique and an array of moves getting off blocks. Chases the action hard and plays with a non-stop motor.

Negatives: Lacks natural bulk and at times easily controlled by a single blocker. Marginal speed. Minimally effective as a pass rusher.

Analysis: A productive defender at Cal, Aluala offers possibilities at defensive tackle in a conventional four-man line or as a two-gap end in a 3-4 alignment. He plays bigger and faster than his measurables and will be an asset for any team that selects him.

Projection: 1-2 Jesse Beals/Icon SMI

I hope Tim Tebow is the starter on kickoff weekend when the Broncos come to Jacksonville. Then everyone in that town will see why Alualu was a better choice than Tim Tebow. Tebow is a great person, and a great college QB, but he's not going to make it as a QB in the NFL (by  Jermeeee 04/26/2010 2:05 pm EST)
