Do you people know how special we are?????
We are one of thirty two cities in the world who can say WE ARE AN N.F.L CITY . We have the chance to on Sunday gather our friends and family and head out to the stadium to watch the best of the best play football. I worked at Win-Dixie in the Deli when Kevin O, A real good friend of mine told me that Jax got awarded an N.F.L team. I got go on the speaker and announcedto everyone in the store this incredibly great news.I remember the sight of Wayne Weaver getting off the plane to hundreds of people cheering him calling him Dream Weaver. My name is Carlos im 39 years old and im very proud to say im a JAGS fan.I have a blue collar job where like many of you i don't make allot of money.I have three kids, a mortgage, and allot of bills and i am proud to say that this year im choosing to loose some things to buy season tickets to support my team. Win or loose, good or bad I am and always will be a Jaguars fan. I know that if ( and I pray that it don't ) the Jags ever left I would be heart broken and allot of you people that whine about them would be too. I mean think about it not only would you be stealing an opportunity from yourself and every one else but you would also deprive your children and mine the opportunity to take there kids to go to the stadium and share in one of the greatest thing one could share with ones child. I also remember when the Colts couldnt beat there way out of wet paper bag now they are adored. The Cowboys, The Saints,The RedSkins all had shaky starts,,,Support your team THE JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS and keep Sunday special for many years to come

Very Good Post
Hey Carlos, good post. I might rag you bout the jags, but I believe in Loyalty to your team , rain or shine. I have always been a colts fan, I was born in indianapolis and spent 19 years of my life there. I have been a colts fan since they have been the Indianapolis Colts. Even when they stunk up the joint! I think its aesome that you stand behind your team. not only loyal to your team but also your state and city. Lets look at it in an economic sense. The fact you have an NFL team helps the economy of the city so much. It would hurt the city alot if they left! I am with Carlos, go out and support your team. If you ant go to the games, at least show your support and watch them on tv!
You are a true Jags fan
Vic would be very proud of you. Glad to see with all of the stuff you have going on that you can still buy tickets and watch the Jags!
Just curious about this unwritten blog language
what does rec mean? I see it all the time rec or rec’d? I assume that means recieved and you agree with what the person before you wrote? does rec mean the same as +1?
Rec = Recommended..............
Below every article is a star that says “rec” next to it. You click the star if you would recommend the article be read by others. “+1” is just saying you are in agreement with a statement and you feel exactly the same.

Just bought season tickets....
it’s just for 2010 but I had been trying to make the move and get tickets but I had almost decided just to buy a couple of gameday tickets throughout the year. I think your passionate post on BCC was what pushed me to do it. With the payment plans they offer it made it real easy. Section 118 U……I think I’m going to order one of those old leather helmets they have witht the Jags colors and logo! Go Jags!
Awesome........
Im in the same section Row G……………

Great post
Great post, and i share your passion my friend. I, too, hope the state of Florida won’ t have to lose the Jags before we appreciate what we have. I remember my 10th grade year of high school hearing the news that a new franchise had chosen Jacksonville as its’ new home.
I believe a few cities were in the running for it, but Jax won the sweepstakes, haha. I don’t remember the other cities in the hunt for the new franchise back in the early to mid 90’s, but if any of you guys do, fill me in. Would be a great little trivia piece, wouldn’t it?
The other cities were
Charlotte,NC – Carolina Panthers
St. Louis (Lost the Cards to AZ in 1987 just 5 years prior)
They were to be the Stallions (Colors blue and gold… and the logo was basically the"NEW" Broncos logo) They were so close to being approved that merchandise had been made for them. But the ownership group fell into problems. They have since stolen the Rams from LA.
Baltimore (Who had lost the Colts in 1984)
They were to be the Baltimore Bombers. Thier ownership group also had major problems. They have since stolen the Browns and renamed them the Ravens.
Jacksonville, FL – Our Jaguars
We were NOT supposed to get a team.. but were given a shot due to the success of the USFL Jacksonville Bulls (I BTW Would LOVE to have the Jags in USFL throwback Bulls jerseys just once :) But Jacksonville was initially turned down and had the initial ownership group breakdown after we were told we wouldn’t get a team. The NFL even waited for the Baltimore or St. Louis group to get their stuff together and instead of announcing the two teams, they announce the Panthers and waited. When the Baltimore and St. Louis group just couldnt get it together, they called Jacksonville and asked if they could still do it. Mr Weaver jumped into action got the group together and viola’ due to fact the two other groups couldn’t get it done.. we LUCKED out.. So unlike Baltimore, St. Louis, Houston or even Cleveland or L.A.. There is little to NO chance Jacksonville will get the opportunity to replace their team should we lose it.
The best we could hope for if we should lose the Jaguars would be an UFL expansion team, should the UFL be able to establish itself as a second tier developmental league for the NFL like the baseball does. Since we do have a tradition of getting teams like that:
WFL Jacksonville Sharks – 1974
WFL Jacksonville Express – 1975
USFL Jacksonville Bulls – 1984-1985
