Jacksonville should trade for Michael Vick and Terrell Owens

We need to make a trade for an established player. He looks like the real deal capable of carrying this club on his back to the playoffs. If you think about it, DelRio is probably feeling the pressure right now that if this season goes in the tank so will his future as their coach. Desperate people do desperate things and he sure needs to make some kind of bold move in order to give this franchise a chance. Vick is probaly better than at least a half dozen starters in the Nfl..heres a list ,,tavaris jackson,david garrard, chad pennington, any bucs qb. any san fran qb. matt schaub,jason campbell. matthew stafford. jamarcus russell, trent edwards,and its close between hasselbeck and bulger..If vick doesnt play another down he will have better stats than all those besides maybe hasselbeck…and i agree we are building for the future..but it is also about being competive now..if we have a horrible season say 4 and 12 or 5 and a 11 how dow you think it affects the players on the team now..the offensive line is still young and still impressionable..do we want to go on a downward spiral putting the losing mindset back into the jaguars.

This is No on so many levels its sad.
1. Established player who can carry team on their back: Maurice Jones-Drew (more yards on less carries than Adrian Peterson)
2. Jaguars were 2 wins out of the playoffs last year. So really he doesnt need a desperate move.
3. IN what universe is David Garrard worse than Mike Vick? In what other universe is Mike Vick better than Matt Schaub, Matthew Stafford, Alex Smith, EVEN josh freeman, or Chad Pennigton? Its not 2004 anymore.
4. We dont need to start a poll because I’m pretty sure no one thinks that we should get either of the two named.
5. What losing mentality? 7-9 aint too bad. and all the rookies will get better plus the defensive line really cant get worse….
6. What would rearranging the depth chart do?
7. Terrell Owens, besides being a parasite, really isnt that good anymore. Id take jarrett dillard over him.
8. The negative vibe in the lockker room would be just disguisting with Vick and Owens.
9. YOu realize the jaguars won 7 games last year…. we’re not last in the leauge in anything besides sacks. and we still almost got to the playoffs.
10. How can VICK or OWENS carry a team to the playoffs? Terrell Owens was on the Bills last year they didnt make the playoffs. Mike Vick was on the eagles and they got into the playoffs i believe but didnt go very far. And it was not because of Mike Vick they did.
11. May I remind you Matt Schaub and David Garrard made it to the pro bowl. Garrard kinda cheaply but he was snubbed in 07’. Yeah and Matt Schaub was the MVP of that game. There is no way that even in VICKs prime he was better than Schaub.
12. Garrard threw 18 TD and 3 just 3 interceptions in 07’. TO be honest yeah he’ll probably never do that again, but hes still been ok.

WORST IDEA EVER
Ever heard of Gene Smith? He’s our GM and he’s not going to trade away valuable draft picks for players past their prime with a lot of baggage. How did signing for TO work out for Buffalo? How did signing Vick work out for Philly?
By the way your list of “starters” was laughable. Jackson, Pennington, Russell and Edwards are not starters. And there is no way that anyone with a brain would think that Vick right now is better than Shaub, Hasselbeck or Garrard.
i guess we are leaning towards
naming our stadium the Jacksonville Dump. Since everyone seems to want us to pick up everyone’s trash.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
I remember last year when everyone and their mom posted something very similar to you, either wanting Vick or Owens. You set a standard however, you want both. Not only that, but you want them both after they did absolutely nothing last season.

At least Tavaris Jackson, Chad Pennington, JaMarcus Russell, Mark Bulger aren’t NFL starters.
David Garrard, Josh Freeman, Matt Schaub, Jason Campbell Matthew Stafford, Trent Edwards, Matt Hasselbeck and Mark Bulger are all significantly better passers than Vick.
Terrell Owens would be a #2 at best here.
If the offensive line is a weakness, then why would you address QB and WR?
The fact that you think Vick is BETTER than:
Matt Schaub, David Garrard or Matthew Stafford really calls your sanity into question.
