Violation???
So, I'm driving home from Philly yesterday, and my wife calls me to let me know that some friends of ours (Eagles season ticket holders) are offering up their tix to the Friday preseason game free of charge. I'm the only one in the area who's a Jags fan that he knew of, and offered me the tix. Now he could of easily pawned them off on an Eagles fan but didn't. I actually had looked into buying tix, but decided against it because most people wanted too much or face value of the tix.
My question is....with the reputation that Philly has in regards to fans of other teams, and even towards their own fans at times...would it be a violation to go to the game and not represent my teams interest? In other words, should I go wearing something neutral, or should I put on my black MJD jersey or one of my Jags polo shirts (grey, black, or teal)?
I'm taking one of my best friends who happens to be a Stillers fan, but that situation could get just as ugly. So, what do you think? I know Vic has cautioned those who go to Philly that theyshouldn't show where their allegiances lie. However, I think it would be a violation of fandom to not wear something. What do you guys think?

As an Eagles fan,
I wouldn’t be too worried. Not in the preseason. The game doesn’t matter, so our fans likely won’t be too crazy.
I’m sure if you wear a Jags jersey you’ll get heckled a little, but if you don’t let them get a rise out of you they’ll leave you alone.
Unless, of course, you run into some random exceptional drunken douche. But that can happen at any stadium.
In sum, if this were the regular season, I’d feel differently. But in the preseason, no problem. Just don’t start something, ’cause the Eagles fans sure will finish it.

Yeah! How bout that Douche throwing up on that kid?
I’m glad other Phillies fans kicked his ass before he got pulled out by the cops. I loved the mug shot with the big black eye!
I'll be your dog, just don't treat me like one....
When i went to buffalo for a game there
We met a Jags fan from nearby Canada. His girlfriend was a bills fan and he wore a bills t-shirt on the outside, on the inside he had a big Jaguars logo. I’d suggest maybe a Jaguars shirt, logos dont stand out as much as opposing teams jersies do

Might as well teal it up big time....
it’s not like they are not going to notice the guy cheering at the wrong time!!!! Be a fan of your team. I think you will be fine! Thrown beer washes out anyway!
ever one remeber that seattle game
Yeah, im stationed up at ft. lewis wa…..born and raised in Jacksonville….well when the jags came to seattle last year i just had to go….and what did i wear, my teal jags sweater with my teal MJD jersey on top. Needless to say, after that game, even though we lost so terribly, It almost got ugly….Seattle fans, are pretty nuts and wouldnt think it..
Mess With the Best Die like the Rest
Bro, I know!
Seattle fans are brutal. I had no idea they were they were that angry. These 3 drunken bridge and tunnels almost beat up my buddies girlfriend. Waaaay inappropriate. Literally almost got in 5 or 6 fights and I’m super mellow at these events. And Qwest is an overrated stadium, they don’t even have a bar area ala the Budzone. Which is probably a good thing because those guys can’t seem to handle a little alcohol. Add a beat down to the equation and it was a pretty rough Sunday.

I say... get a permit
and take a real Jaguar with you… he’ll back you up.
Go JAGS!
i went to the philly preseason last year and will be going again this year
i will be in sec. 118 row 5 just come there if you need some help. The stadium is nice and the fans were kool. I went to the Jets game too last year and almost got into a couple of fights. SUPPORT YOUR TEAM
at the jets game last season
i sat in section 130 row 2. That was an awesome game from start to finish.
i sat the 40 left 40 visitor side row 28(would of been 5, but parents wanted to be under the thing incase it rained), supposedly i was sitting next infront and behind of a bunch of Derek Harvey relatives, adn to our left was a couple that were from Jacksonville, but they moved to NY, and they had the whole crowd cussing at them.

i'm out in SF and went to the niners game last year
rocked my jag jersey and got heckled BADLY, my buddy (who’s a niners fan) probably got it worse than i did. borderline fights a few times… now that’s in SF! where people wear berkinstocks and love the earth and whatnot….i can’t IMAGINE if the oakland game was in oakland this year…i’d probably fear for my safety hah
San Fran's a wierd fanbase haha
I encountered some when i vacationed in San Fran.

as a gator
i wore orange and blue to many a noles game. it is hard to draw the line between ‘get in a fight with an idiot, swallow my pride and not fight an idiot, or watch an idiot get arrested for throwing beer on you’ but i would be upset if i was a steelers fan at your spelling, my friend. REPRESENT! wear a black polo wth a jags emblem and dont bee too loud- its the preseason, not the playoffs.

As a Nole
I wore an FSU t-shirt in Gainesville one time, and a cop threatened to arrest me!
You can't reason with unreasonable people.
thats why
to me, no rivalry or game-day experience will ever top a college rivalry game. I love the pros now more than college for many reasons, but there is no better way to spend a weekend than to go to fsu or gainesville and just… well, you know.
