With his potentially season ending injury, what impact do you think this is going to ultimately have on the team. In my honest opinion, this is devastating, mainly due to depth issues. I also believe that by seasons end he would've become a playmaker, being good enough to be a starter on most other teams. I have full faith in GM Gene's abilty to find an adequate replacement, but I doubt he'll be able to find a player to fill that void Smith was going to fill.
On a more positive note, he should come back more passionate than ever to prove himself, not only to himself, but to his teammates, coaches, the GM and owner. Also, it's going to be like he was an extra pick from next years draft as teams still won't know what to expect, therefore will be unable to gameplan against him. One thing is certain though, the Jags D-line is going to be a beast of a unit for years to come. Especially when Smith makes his return.
So this is to D'Anthony making a full recovery. Go Jags!
