Dear Jag-Fans,
After listening to Gene's hints at Vic's radio show, and him making clear that he takes value over position to a certain degree. I decided to start a discussion with my first post. Here is my guess on the final 53 from thousands of miles away (I am German):
Specialists: 7
PR Mc Ghee (also CB)
KR Karim (also RB)
ST Owens (also RB) and Osgood (also WR)
K Scobee
P Podlesh
LS Cain
Offense: 23 (+3 ST Specialists)
WR (5 (+1)) Sims-Walker, Thomas, Dillard, Williamson, Underwood
TE (3) Lewis, Wilford, Miller
RB (4(+2)) Jones-Drew, Jones, Jennings, Bolen
QB (2) Garrard, McCown
C (2) Meester, Estes
OG (4) Nwaneri, Forney, Manuwai, Smiley
OT (3) Monroe, Britton, Black
Defense 23 (+1 ST Specialist)
CB (6(+1)) Mathis, Cox, Starks, Carey, Coe, Middelton,
S (4) Alexander, Smith, Considine, Safety of the Street/Trade or Nelson/Brackenridge
LB (5) Smith, Durant, Morrison, Allen, Cutrera
DL (8) Alualu, Kampman, Knighton, Harvey, Lane, Hart, Duzable, Curry
After looking at it:
They might take a OT instead of an interior linemen but I think the interior line is old therefore depth is needed there. Also LB seems awfully thin, but I think the Jags have so many good special teamers carrying 5 should be fine from a teams standpoint. And they could hide depth at the PS with Baldridge and Haslam (OT), Bosworth and Morgan (LB), Harris (QB), Potter (TE), Kackert (RB), Quaye (DL)
Yours,
Nick
