Jaguars Release Keith Null from Practice Squad
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced today that they have released quarterback Keith Null from their practice squad. Taking his place is recently released linebacker Alvin Bowen.
While some will be a little surprised Null made it less than 72 hours, it's highly likely he'll be back on the practice squad. When newly acquired quarterback Trent Edwardsgets acclimated with the Jaguars offense, it's likely Todd Bouman will be released and Keith Null will be added back to the Jaguars roster in some fashion.

It may just be me.. Does there seem to be more shuffling of the roster this year than any year in recent memory?… I know it’s a necessary evil some times, but geez, wtf, over?.. maybe i’m just paying attention more… aargh

Todd Bouman
Is likely to be released? In a few weeks, right? They wouldn’t release him right now though? Edwards probably doesn’t have a chance at getting the playbook down. Bouman is #2 for this weekend, so next week is probably the earliest in my mind.

the playbook from what I've seen has the depth of a Waffle House menu.
And like the hash browns, we’ve been smothered, covered, chopped and topped.

Keith Null has been released from the practice squad. Why do I get the feeling he’ll be back?
Hm…

Trent Edwards
Not sure if you’ve gotten any comments about him from the Buffalo fans. Here’s my take.
He has never recovered from the concussion he received in the Arizona game. There was a Youtube video of that on a thread a few days ago. Prior to that he was quick at reading defenses and getting the ball off. Now it’s like he plays in a fog. The analogy is that a young boxer who shows great talent until he is KO’d, after that never the same. You’ve probably seen this before.
Brain injuries are strange. Even though Edwards appears outwardly recovered, I believe there has been some irreparable effect. That’s not to say he isn’t a hard worker, it’s just what happened.
I have hear that an brought up my concern he was possibly shellshocked on Twitter last week. I’ve also heard it was a combo of that his and Buff’s OL. He started to be so check to check down because he didn’t want to get killed.
I think the hope for him is he can be a long term potential back up quarterback.

Why didn't they trade Null for Tebow?
Just kidding, had to throw it out there after I heard that Dumb-arse caller on 1010 this morning give his trade Garrad for Tebow speech.
in fairness...
Fans who know a thing or two about the pro game and try to watch football with an emotionless state of mind knew he was a project at best. I was absolutely stunned when the Broncos took him in the first, then after thinking about it, knew that the only 2 guys who would have taken him that early were Denver and Oakland. He is extremely raw but he’s a hell of an athlete. His game would have been great in the 1930’s or 40’s. I have no doubt he’s coachable and will put in the work, but I put in the work with Quantitative Methods of Business in Grad school and the best I could do was a B.
Point is, to label him a bust this early in the going is unfair. If we’re going to decide that 3 years is when players “get it” then that should be the standard for all. I just question why you take a guy that high, pay him that inflated contract and all that stuff if you’re not planning to use him anytime in the next 2 years. Like I often say, grasp and reach are 2 totally different things. Record aside, the Broncos are Kyle Orton’s team for the foreseeable future as long as McDaniels is coaching. I really would love to see him succeed, but it’s very telling that he has not played a snap since the 3 plays against the Jags.
Perhaps we ought to start calling Tebow “Moonlight” after Moonlight Graham from Field of Dreams. Instead of being a doctor later in life maybe he can become a Christian mohel.
