Viator Predicts: The Practice Squad

The final 53 are set, at least for the moment. Trades and waiver acquisitions may still roll in over the days to come.

Some of the players cut have potential for development. I think it's time to take a guess at the young men that may fill out the Jaguars' practice squad. Here we go...

QB - Trevor Harris

RB - Chad Kackert

TE - Mike Caussin

WR - John Matthews

C  - Bradley Vierling

OT - Daniel Baldridge

DT - Ko Quaye

DT - Walter Curry

Possible candidates from waivers:

LB - Bear Woods was signed to Atlanta's practice squad.

DB - Myron Rolle was signed to Tennessee's practice squad.

Unforeseen players signed:

QB - Brett Ratliff

LB - Alvin Bowen

CB - John Destin

Practice squad complete. Missed 3.

Freakin Starks

I mean how many times did JDR say Starks looked good.

Guess Gene didn't think so

But Don Carey is the head scratcher. I’ll say Coe all day is good with me. But keeping Carey over Starks makes me wanna break some kid’s crayons or pencils or something. haha

Not sold on Rolle

Hell of a story, but his best contributions will be off the field.

Now this guy Bear Woods intrigues me. The obvious nickname has to be “shit in the”

Now as far as practice squad, would a LeFevour intrigue you guys over Harris?

Yeah

As in, off the field, wearing a stethoscope.

Bear Woods is interesting.

QB for the PS is wide open as far as I’m concerned. I trust Gene and McDonough.

I still would love Rolle in some way

I do not know how awful he was up to this point, but i still feel his intellectual capacity is going to give him an advantage over many newcomers in terms of figuring out how to play in the NFL.

As for the QB situation, I gather Harris is a capable guy who with time can truly emerge. I am not sure the same can be said about Lefevour in the NFL so i would say no.

Quick thinking

is way different then training your body on how to react.

I want Rolle, for his speed and intangibles…..he is better then Carey! (i believe Mr. Carey might end up as a WIll James or Brian Russell for our Defensive backfield)

Rolle is average at best

You can't reason with unreasonable people.

by JagsAlex87 on Sep 5, 2010 10:38 AM EDT up reply actions

no he is isn’t. But he might end up a system victim, like Reggie Nelson

Nelson was a system victim?

The system wasn’t the problem, Nelson’s instincts and tackling were. While I like Rolle, he never really stood out at FSU, and I believe he only had 1 interception.

You can't reason with unreasonable people.
