Not Al Afalava
Everyone keeps saying that we need to go after Al Afalava, and everyone is saying it was a surpise cut. They wouldn't have cut him to make room, that's for sure, he was doing horrible this off-season/pre-season. That's why he was cut.
"Safety Al Afalava, the Bears 6th round pick in the 2009 Draft, was also let go, after starting 13 games as a rookie last season. He plummeted down the depth chart in the offseason after he struggled badly in coverage and had trouble wrapping up

With that said I think the Jaguars will need to pursue somebody else at safety, and then cut Don Carey.

Trouble covering and tackling?
Sounds like a perfect fit for us. He may make secondary captain if he’s as bad as they say.
I hope you are right! I wanna win
But from what Ive seen in the preseason, the area between the LBs and Safeties has been a free fire zone for opposing QBs. Terrible safety play.
Reggie Nelson was flat out awful. I guess anybody else equals addition by subtraction.
