Indianapolis Colts Waive/Injured Tony Ugoh

This isn't Jaguars related so to speak, but in a shocking move the Indianapolis Colts waived/injured left tackle Tony Ugoh about a half hour ago according to ESPN's Paul Kahursky. Ugoh had spent only three seasons with the Colts. I knew they were not happy with his play over the last season and the off-season, but it appears they're done with him.

It's an interesting development, as their line as is lacks depth and is banged up.

Ugoh is young, and we could pick him up easily

Agree, but I felt like this was news worthy. Polian doesn’t usually miss so badly on high picks.

He’s lost a little on his fastball in recent years. He went from Manning, James, Wayne, Freeney and Clark to Jackson, Addai, Gonzalez, Ugoh and Brown.

We could always use another back up tackle or switch him to guard. If he can snap a football well enough, this could be a cheap fix to Meester’s declining play. Either way, I think we should grab him so that we have a depth player who is young and might be coached up.

thats what im saying, he could simply replace the oldest T/G……..i think the Jags try for him, but he ends up somewhere where he could be a worthwhile RT

however I think he is the Colts OL who was responsible for breaking Hayward’s leg with a lowblock so maybe I don’t wish him football-wise well

Not quite

That easy to create a center from another position

If the Colts thought he'd make a decent backup even

they wouldn’t have released him.

And the Colts o-line isn’t very deep at all.

DG is the best we have and help is not on the way. I realize he's not perfect, but I feel a lot better about him at QB than I do the O-Line, DB's and LB's ability to cover a TE.
