Jaguars first five home games will NOT be blacked out.
In my rage, I forgot to post this today.
According to Jaguars This Week on WOKV AM690 last night, the first five home games for the Jacksonville Jaguars are guaranteed to not be blacked out.

Now if they can show something on the field
we can sell out the Browns, Raiders and Redskins as well.
DG is the best we have and help is not on the way. I realize he's not perfect, but I feel a lot better about him at QB than I do the O-Line, DB's and LB's ability to cover a TE.
Skins game
Only thing that hurts the Skins game is the date.
You’d like to think that competitive games with 3 improved teams would be attractive, but as you said, we go in with a winning record, we’ll see.
I'll be there
I can usually only go to games during Thanksgiving and Christmas when I’m back home.
So the Tebow effect lasts 4 games after he leaves town?
BS!!!! And I promise everyone that if the team is winning, those last three regular season games will be on TV too. That’s not to mention the home playoff games!!! This stupidity by the national media may have created the perfect storm for this team to dominate this season! The NFL better watch out….its on in Jacksonville!!!
Wonder how Florio spins this
This is the best news to hear 3 days before Opening Day…I am so amped up I can’t believe it. This is going to be a special season…
How they'll spin it
They’ll bring up the fact that we don’t actually have to “sell out” to have blackouts. I think if we hit some magic number below the total sell out number, we get the blackouts lifted.
HAHA! Good point...
I know the club seats don’t count towards the blackout number, and I’m sure there will be a mention of the “covered seats”
So that leaves the Browns, Raiders, and Redskins games that are left?
Not too bad, but still have work to do.
You can't reason with unreasonable people.
This means WITHOUT WW buying any tickets, right?
This is all ticket sales? Thank you, Tony Boselli and the countless others who worked hard to get people into the Jags again!
Can you smell it....
Can you smell what the JAGS are cookin…..I can…..ITs a national haters convention ass woopin.

maybe at the end of home wins
they can cue the closing theme to the Incredible Hulk.
Just a solitary guy hitchhiking to the next destination going to inflict damage when provoked.
Dang it the Lortabs are getting to me.

Funny you mentioned that
my grandfather, a Tebow-nite, sprouted out that rediculous Effect. I was like it’s hardly worth mentioning, Rusty Smith might draw like what 45 more fans to the game.

Slowly The Jaguars fanbase might develop
a “Us vs The World” attitude. As much as hate lazy reporting these guys might do good for us!
Dear Jags win this game on Sunday; and I’m sure great things will come (via fanbase)!

If you ever get a chance, read “America’s Game” by Michael McCambridge. There’s a section of the book that reminds me a little of the Jags and it has to do with Kansas City’s early ambivalence toward the Chiefs then sucking through the 70s and 80s, and then in the early 90’s a new GM (Carl Peterson) coach and defensive rookie (Derrick Thomas) and new attitude got the city to the fanatical fanbase they have had until recently. Basically no one cared for them regardless of the efforts of Lamar Hunt to ingrain the team and community. Took a series of events to get the city back to supporting the team.
Anyway, in reading that and seeing the grass roots efforts led by Tony Boselli, I am seeing a lot of similarities and it’s kind of cool getting the chance to be on the ground floor again.
Im surprised.....
Who knew that there were so many Mike Vick, Curtis Painter, Kerry Collins, Matt Leinart and Colt McCoy fans in Jacksonville? I mean since we only sell out games due to back up QB’s.
GOD, I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But first I hope I make it through tonights “Brett Favre Love Fest” without puking too much. Maybe we should get him…ESPN, Maffen, and 1/2 of America would love us and pick us for the SB.
Just kidding…I LOATHE Favre.
JaguarsInsider just tweeted
“Contrary to reports, there are still tickets remaining for the final 7 home games. Club seats are available for Sunday’s game.
Not sold out, just not blacked out.

For gazillionth time...a sellout and a blackout are different!!!!!!
by thegoodz on Sep 9, 2010 4:02 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
Of course they are, they're even mutually exclusive.
But I think you meant a sell-out and having the blackout lifted are different. Which is true and hard for some people to understand unfortunately. :-)
DG is the best we have and help is not on the way. I realize he's not perfect, but I feel a lot better about him at QB than I do the O-Line, DB's and LB's ability to cover a TE.
I know what the difference is sa
I was just sharing what the tweet said. Notice it doesn’t mention anything about a blackout or sellout. Calm yourself down.
hate to be a party pooper...
i havent seen that the first 5 games wont be blacked out guarnteed anywhere confirmed. i heard the radio show, and thought the reference was made more in the sense. of if they win this first game it would go a longway in solving our blackout situation for the first five at least. can anyone confirm this other than wokv?
i doubt that too, but dont you think that info like that would be placed on the jags website right away. Not to mention other local media outlets. i listened to the show. The context of the remarks just sounded different.
They may not put it on....
because as we discussed, they have avoided the blackouts, but are not sold out. If they can sell more, they would like to do that.
This is great news. This media thing is getting really ridiculous. Here in Brazil is even worse, when commentators from ESPN Brazil talk about the Jaguars is only to say they are about to move to L.A. There’s nowhere to run, but we will show them. Go Jags!
"Do I need to be liked? Absolutely not! I like to be liked, I enjoy being liked, I have to be liked. But it's not like this compulsive need to be liked...like my need to be praised." Michael Scott
Wanna get really fired up?
Go to SI’s site and under truth and rumors click on “Jaguars love Tebow”. Just read all the comments, what idiots. But I guess they read the national media’s take on the Jags.
That's just it
Most folks are spoon feed by the media. They buy into the what they see and hear, and then regurgitate the information…or misinformation. Independent thinking is critical. We don’t need to crush or ridicule the uninitiated. It’s just ignorance, they deserve some grace.
Vae Victis!
It’s lazy journalism. People are clueless.

from ESPN's Paul Kuharsky (What gives?)
William in Oviedo, Fla., writes: I’m glad to see how ESPN hasn’t said anything about five of the Jags eight home games not being blacked out.
Paul Kuharsky: I will try to explain as best as I can.
Me saying, "No way will William eat that donut" is different than me reporting "William won’t eat that donut."
The first presumes something that I have little doubt will be the case. The second is absolutely factual.
Here’s what I tweeted Friday morning:
I am told only game #Jaguars have blackout lifted for so far is opener. Next four are close, but not done deals. #NFL
So the AFC South Blog piece of ESPN hasn’t said anything about it for one simple reason: I checked it out and found it to be untrue.
Now eventually it may become true. The Jaguars certainly hope it comes true. But if it does, that doesn’t make saying it as beyond speculative now correct.
Also, while we’re on the subject: People keep saying the Jaguars announced it. They did not. If they had it to announce, don’t you think they would have done so with great fanfare?
Someone saying it on the radio and an official team announcement are two very different things. How about we choose our words more carefully?
This is why Ben Roethlisberger not being elected a captain this season becomes him being "stripped" of his captaincy. We can all see how that is not the same thing, right?
