Jaguars 2011 Senior Bowl Interests: Day 1 (More Added)
According to Charlie Bernstein of FOX Sports, the Jacksonville Jaguars were seen talking to a few players today at the Senior bowl. Among the players observed, the Jaguars spoke to Michigan State inside linebacker Greg Jones, Ohio State linebacker Ross Homan, and ECU wide receiver Dwayne Harris.
I mentioned Greg Jones in my "Five to Watch" story earlier. Ross Homan, another linebacker, is shorter like Greg Jones. He measured in at 6-0 and 230 pounds. He's an active linebacker with a good motor and is very adept in zone coverage. He's not a great athlete and lacks top end speed, and is a bit small for the inside at the NFL level.
Dwayne Harris from East Carolina measured in at almost 5-10 and 200 pounds even. He's good decent size for a receiver (similar to Mike Thomas) and has excellent hands. He's known as a very good route runner, but his top end speed is a big question mark. Harris was known as a clutch player at ECU often coming up with critical third down receptions.
UPDATE:
Jaguars have also spoken with Oregon linebacker Casey Matthews, NC State linebacker Nate Irving, and Miami(FL) wide receiver Leonard Hankerson. The Jaguars will meet with Washington quarterback Jake Locker later today.

truthfully, speed is not the thing super important for me in a wr, especially a guy like this who i doubt projects as a #1
if on the other hand, he does project as a #1 type wr then i do admit the speed thing would be a huge issue. gott be able to stretch the d down the field as that #1 guy
YES HANKERSON <333333333333333333
he is my man crush a huge miami fan got to see him play in person.. He’s big with speed.. He will drop some but usually is reliable
It makes me sad..
They signed Brett Romberg as a UDFA
Hankerson
As a Miami fan, I can tell you that Hankerson is better than his numbers in college. He is very good.

Huge Nole Fan
But I would love to see us take Hankerson. He seems to run great routes and is big and athletic. Huge upside on this kid. (Especially without Jacory Harris throwing to him.)
dwayne harris kinda turns me off, didnt think he was that good in getting seperation, but tried hard
I like him, been watching him for a while though...
was he struggling at practice? i didnt get to watch.

Gene should like Locker's character.
We already know what Locker brings to the table as a player, but I think Gene will see something in Locker as far as character goes too. He’s much like AluAlu in terms of charecter both of them are married (well Locker will be this year),and active towards the community.
I still
don’t think he’ll be our guy come April. Just too erratic and not exactly tall or durable. As far as I can think back, all of Gene’s draft picks have been very durable in college.
Nate Irving!!!
I would love to see us take Irving in the 3rd or 4th round cuz he is a huge playmaker on defense and he is always around the ball
Of the guys at the Senior Bowl
I’m starting to like Kaepernick more and more. One of the main things I like is his ability throw short passes even though he’s mostly touted as a big arm guy with a long throwing motion.
Got a good review at Draft Insiders
Say’s his throw timing and accuracy are very good.
Also he weighed in at 6ft41/2in not 6ft6in and the previously listed 225lb therefore less of a toothpick more of a stringbean. Which is more edible for me.
What could of happened; did.
WR
Hankerson would be a great addition. I also like Vincent Brown from SDSU.
