Jaguars Add Two To Practice Squad
Yesterday, the Jacksonville Jaguars released tight end Brett Brackett from their practice squad. Brackett was added last week. The release left the Jaguars with two empty spots on their practice squad, as Jacob Cutrera was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team annouced today that they have added tight end Schuylar Oordt and linebacker Joe Pawelek to their practice squad.
Pawelek spent the 2010 season with the Seattle after signing as a rookie free agent. He played in one game for the Seahawks as a rookie and was waived on final cuts. Oordt, signed with St. Louis as a rookie free agent in 2011 and was waived back in August. Interesting note, Oordt attended Northern Iowa for college but is also from Parkersburg, Iowa. Parkersburg is also the same hometown as center Brad Meester and defensive end Aaron Kampman. I don't really expect either to be called up to the active roster at any point, unless there is a serious injury.

Cool...I think the Jags should go after Josh Cribbs...
he was just demoted. He would add a dynamic to the ST as a returner and a WR. Just a thought.

What's up...

When was the last time we had someone on the practice squad who was worth damn?

Jeremy Mincey was on the Jaguars practice squad back in 2007
Brock Bolen wasn’t a bad practice squad development either

Hey Alfie,
I’m probably way off on this but I don’t remember Richard Murphy getting injured. Is it possible he was placed on IR so another team couldn’t scoop him up? Or, can other teams grab players off of IR anyway?
I'd rather be golfing.
I thought I remembered him getting injured in preseason?
Also, there any chance of Oordt being decent? I go to the U of Northern Iowa and have never heard of him, though honestly our football games don’t inspire much hype.
