With the signing of Mike Sims-Walker seemingly imminent, the Jaguars would need to release a player or send a player to injured reserve to make room for Sims-Walker on the roster. Well it appears as though we have our answer as to who, via a Tania Ganguli tweet.

Austen Lane heads to injured reserve after recording 14 tackles through six games so far in 2011. He recorded his first career sack against the Saints in week four, but ultimately struggled to provide a pass rush. With the return of Aaron Kampman to the lineup, Lane's snaps were reduced further as he was proving to be less productive than Matt Roth, Jeremy Mincey and John Chick at rushing the passer.
