2012 Draft: Del Rio, Gene Smith still with us?
Anouther year of the same thing start off little bit higher than average (first game of the season) then not making changes. Now going into week 7, 1 and 6, and having the ravens, charges, and the falcons coming up in the schedule its going to be a challange for the jags.
For being 30th in the NFL we will be guarenteeded a top 15 draft pick.
Changes need to be made for Jack Del rio and the coaching staff.
Jack Del RIo has been with the jaguars for years and has won some games but not enough. But, latly Jack has no direction to a destination, and has no control or disapline over his players. People need to remember that Jack is in the professional football league you are paid to win games. From the games this season he has not been doing his job and if he was a true coach he would'nt be using the same excuse after each game " we just did'nt get it done today."
Wayne Weaver needs to remember that he is in charge.
Gene Smith has had some good picks over the past years but mostly below average. For some reason Smith likes to draft people from division 3 school where everybody does great but, that says nothing about the NFL. If smith does'nt make some great picks this 2012 draft like maybe picking from a big name school he will be gone from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Devil's advocate.
You KNOW this how?
Gene’s contract is up after this year. Is there anyone other than WW who actually knows if he will be kept?

This is crazy just flat out crazy. Doesnt really matter about school in the NFL. Yeah Derek Cox, Cam Bradfield(i know just one game), and Terrance Knighton all suck. Worthless because they came small schools. Come on man. Gene pick players who will help the team he doesnt care about school.
SCALP'EM
Jesus is Lord!
I'm concerned about both right now
JDR for sure should be gone. I’m upset that Weaver hasn’t pulled the plug on him already.
As far as Gene, the main concern I have is that he either still can’t find a WR or isn’t seriously looking for one. The other concern I have is that we are having some serious health issues with a lot of his picks. This could be the fault of our conditioning staff, so I won’t hold that against him, but at some point you have to wonder just how well he is at evaluating all aspects of his picks. If you are hurt and can’t play on Sunday, it doesn’t matter where you came from. I am willing to give him one more draft and a better coaching staff before I decide. Hopefully Weaver only extends him for one year.
This post makes no sense
You assume that all Gene’s picks have been from small schools. Besides Cox and Knighton, and Rackley, have the Jags really drafted anybody from a “small school” in the first 3 rounds?
You can't reason with unreasonable people.
If you ain't first, you're last.
Small School
Didn’t Jerry Rice come from Mississippi Valley State? Real Powerhouse!
After Monday night football
I would have rather seen it done before Monday night football for marketing reasons, but I think soon as Monday night football is over we will hear either A ) he will be allowed to finish the season and then he will resign or b) Fired. He wont be here next season. The question is who ? If not Bill than whos your next pick?
Don’t be surprised if they return. Remember, the organization’s plan was to be in a 3 – 4 year re-building process. They now have their franchise QB in Mr. Gabbert and are beginning to build a strong nucleus on defense. Our running game will still be secure with Mr. Jones-Drew and Mr. Jones in the backfield. Now, the only pieces that are missing are O-line depth and quality receivers. Let time play itself out people.

This...
I can agree with. Now if we don’t make the playoffs come next year, Del Rio and Gene Smith should both be fired. And this is coming from a person who doesn’t really have an opinion about the Del Rio situation and would like to see Gene return as the GM.
