Will the Jaguars show some life Monday Night?

At 1-5, to say that the Jaguars' season has been a disappointment thus far would be an understatement.  Jacksonville hasn't won in a month and a half, and they keep finding ways to lose football games.  Will this week end just like the last five, or is it possible that they somehow manage to pull off the upset under the bright lights?

Star-divide

Despite the Jaguars' pitiful record, they have managed to stay close in every game since Blaine Gabbert took over at quarterback.  Gabbert has certainly looked like a rookie at times, but despite his terrible receiving corps he continues to show flashes and has not been the reason the Jaguars have lost games.  Last week, he led the Jags to 13 second half points, only for them to once again fall short in the end to the Steelers, 17-13.

The Jaguars had every reason to quit against Pittsburgh after they were completely shut down and shutout in the 1st half.  This was supposed to be a team competing for the playoffs, just one year removed from being a win away from clinching the division, and they trailed by 17 points to a team with arguably the best defense in football.  But unlike numerous other times in the Del Rio era, the Jaguars came out fighting in the 2nd half and nearly pulled off the upset.

Now, perhaps an even greater challenge awaits them Monday Night.  Will they show the fight they had in the 2nd half last week, or can we expect something more along the lines of the Tennessee debacle on MNF last year?  At this point, the playoffs are out of reach for this team, but personally I think that despite being 10 point home underdogs the Jags manage to keep it close, only to ultimately fall to 1-6.  The Ravens have just too much on both sides of the ball for Jacksonville to match up with for a full sixty minutes.

Ravens 23, Jaguars 16

Of course they will.

Anyone who thinks this team has quit isn’t familiar with it. I think we’ll see MJD go crazy this game, even against their stout defense. Man, I wish I could be there. GO JAGS!!!
