An Outsiders Opinion: A Offensive Rant

Stay connected for news and updates

Alright I have kept quiet long enough regarding this pitiful offense.

I will try and keep this rant as clean as I can but I am livid.

Marcedes Lewis reminds me of a WR that my other favorite team payed.  He is good until he gets that big paycheck and then falls off the Earth.  Moving Blaine Gabbert into the offense, Lewis was supposed to be his go to guy.  He has more damn drops than catches.  If the Jags had another viable Tight End on the roster, I would say bench his ass.  He is not earning that money that he held out for.  Him holding out should have been a red flag.  I am absolutely disgusted with Lewis.  He needs to focus more on making catches than programming.

I am not going to blame Gabbert at all.  He has some mechanical issues but those can be fixed.  His issue is that these damn guys we call WR's can't get open or catch.  Yes he makes some bad throws but them not getting open doesn't help.  I don't if the guys have a thing against Blaine or what but it needs to stop.  If it is a drop off between Gabbert and David Garrard then I can live with that.  What I mean is that Gabbert has a larger range of throwing.  He can get the ball to those guys down field.

Newton has Smith, Dalton has Green, Ponder has Harvin and Peterson.  Blaine has a guy who is turning into a diva, WR's who can't get separation and a RB who is getting a bad case of fumblitis.  The Garrard era is over guys, Blaine is your QB and if you cannot get behind that pack your damn bags and GTFO.

Injuries on the Offensive Line hurts and that is not helping much but if one or two guys would stay and block, maybe Gabbert would not be so damn skittish.  A lot of Gabbert's issues are not helped by the fact that he is on his back 2-3 times a game.  He is a smart kid but he needs to be helped.

I just hope that the Bye Week helps out because there is no way this team succeeds with an offense this bad.  And do not blame the rookie for every little thing or compare him to any of the other rookie QB's because there is no way in hell they would succeed in this offense.
