Why no DuJuan Harris?
I'm asking because I don't think that MJD and Deji are enough to carry us through the entire season. MJD is doing his part but Deji has not been able to make many plays which is what DuJuan did a number times through the presesason. Yeah, I know it was the preseason but no one is going to tell me that Brock Bolen is providing more than DuJuan possibly could. There is one play in particular in regards to Deji, on a third and long, they threw him a screen and he ended up a yard short. I remember thinking that if he would just made one more cut or fought for an extra yard, that drive would've been kept alive. Which brings me back to DuJuan because I think he'd bring another spark to the offense. I'm sure there is a logical reason he is being kept on the practice squad, but we need another playmaker outside MJD to give the offense a boost and I think DuJuan could be that.

The reason why is because he would get blown up in pass protection
and not only was it preseason but he was going against guys who are not even on NFL rosters anymore. Coaches would know whether Dujuan’s skills translate to success right now.

Deji...
can’t be that better in pass protection than DuJuan. Blocking is a skill that can be taught, playmaking can’t and I think DuJuan would provide that for this team. And it’s not like the coaches have any say in the personnel anyways, so I guess Gene doesn’t think he is ready to compete at this level yet then. It doesn’t matter but I thought it was a fair question to ask.
Playmaking.
I stated that several times in the post. Deji isn’t making plays with the opportunities given to him and maybe DuJuan can.
i obviously don't think that to be the case
and that is why i still asked. Dujuan is Deji with one less year of experience. Truth is the RB situation is most hurt by the lack of Jennings
You're right.
The loss of Jennings is undeniable. But is it unreasonable to think that he could have more impact right now than Brock Bolen? Or that he could provide a spark? I don’t think he would be the difference in this offense being effective or not, but I think he could be more of an asset than a liability, if he was given the chance to.
I disagree
I believe we’d have gotten 250 rushing with he and MJD in the Carolina game. He was truly a change of pace runner for MJD. Deji is not yet built for more than 5 carries.
Chew on this for a second. Word was that Jennings injury was that of an 8-10 week variety. Gene Smith made comments that he wished IR was a half season loss vice a full season. If this were the case that Jennings was only due to be out for 8 weeks, who here would have been opposed to putting Kampman on IR instead of Jennings.

Not me...
in regards to putting Kampman on IR instead of Jennings. The signing of Roth would’ve made it easier to accept the loss of Kampman, but the feeling isn’t the same when I think about Deji replacing Rashad. Even though a complete season of being inactive for Aaron would’ve probably signified the end of his time as a Jaguar, so the situation is different in that aspect, so there is a sense of logic behind both decisions.
Too allthe people on here that said Jennings was"Just a guy".... Really?
Jennings is 10 times better than Karim……I’m talking to you Alfie…..
Deji is as soft as a Q-Tip….

Voted No because it’s still a bit early in the season. I don’t think he gets on the active roster unless we have another IR or long term injury.

Which sucks...
because I’m still sticking to my belief that his preseason performances deserved him a shot to make the active roster.
i agree that it sucks… i think the coaching staff is sticking with the veteran “go with what ya know” instead of the rookie “well, he had a good preseason, so…”
hell, what do i know, right? ha!

No, you're right.
I agree completely with that assessment. It’s obvious Del Rio is feeling the pressure to keep his job, so the less he has to depend on unproven players the better he might feel about the chances of keeping his job. What you just said goes back to the press conference him and Gene had about the release of Garrard. It was obvious to everyone that Jack really wasn’t happy with the decision and that having Luke or Blaine leading the offense didn’t sit well with. Good call.
Karim and Harris are pretty much the same player
Putting him in the game-plan wouldn’t change anything

That's what we all believe.
But how accurate could that be? They are two different people that should have their own style of play with their own group of strenghts and weaknesses. My only point is that I think DuJuan has the playmaking ability that Deji hasn’t shown thus far. All I’m saying is that maybe he would get that extra yard or two that will make the difference in getting that first down and not getting it. Something that the coaches can’t coach.
What makes you think he has playmaking ability that Deji doesn't?
And Karim has made plays when they were there to be made, its not like he doesn’t run hard or fight for extra yards.

I can't remember...
Deji ever fighting for extra yards. I don’t recall him breaking many tackles either which is the key part of making a play in this league. Don’t get me wrong, I like Deji. The only thing I have to judge DuJuan by is the preseason and he looked like lightning in a bottle when he had the ball. I could be completely wrong in my view of this but I think DuJuan runs harder than Deji. And as you said, it’s not like Deji doesn’t run hard, so for me to think DuJuan runs harder is saying something.
I mean there haven't been alot of oppurtunities
But Deji did break a couple tackles and make a long 3rd down. I

I don't think so.. I thought Harris looked a little quicker and stronger..
And definitly more determined… Deji goes down like a sack of potatos on first contact.. I saw Harris bouncing off of tackles and plowing ahead for extra yardage..

Thank You!!!
This was exactly what I was trying to say.
