Jaguars sign rookie TE Brett Brackett to the practice squad
The Jacksonville Jaguars made a roster move today, signing rookie tight end Brett Brackett to their practice squad. To make room, rookie wide receiver Tyler Beiler was released from the practice squad. Zach Miller sustained a shoulder injury and is listed as doubtful for this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals, it's very unlikely he'll play.
This move does make one wonder if the injury to Miller is going to keep him sidelined for a while, and if this might be an eventual step up for Brackett to the active roster. Brackett spent training camp with the Miami Dolphins. Four-year letterman at Penn State with 56 career receptions for 714 yards and 7 touchdowns.

I don’t think it could get much worse with the tight-ends we have now. I only hope Marcedes gets on the same page with Blaine and vice versa. Right now, I would think other TE’s (other than #89) would be more important as blockers than pass catchers. We have enough issues with our current crop of WR’s already.

good thing those offseason workouts did wonders for our cohesiveness

eh
The more I get into the school year, my main priorities are now girls, cars, then jags, during the summer was more jags, cars, girls. I’m too tired to really do any research or anything, sorry.

Went to PSU, which is a good school, so he must have some talent, right? Smart, too
Brackett is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and he compiled a 3.83 grade-point average last fall for Dean’s List honors.
Started as a QB at PSU, also a good special teamer.

Scouting Report:
A wide receiver/tight end tweener who really had a nice senior season. Played all over the Penn State offense and does a nice job using his big frame to box out defenders and catch the football. Played mostly from a two-point stance, would line up both in the slot and outside. Lacks a great first step off the snap, lumbers into his route and doesn’t have the speed to threaten corners vertically down the field. However, does a nice job sinking his hips into his routes and creating a bit of a burst out of his breaks. Is a natural plucker who catches the ball well off his frame and isn’t afraid to work the middle of the field, expose his body and go get the football.
Was one of the better blocking wideouts in the country this season. Has a strong pair of hands, long arms and a willingness to dominate on contact. Loves to deliver some absolutely devastating crack block blocks inside on perimeter runs and takes joy in working for his teammates. Will need to learn to take snaps from more of a three-point stance and will be a developmental player, but the size and athletic ability is there.
Impression: A nice-sized kid who will make the move from wideout to tight end in the NFL. Has some pass-catching ability and is a willing blocker. Looks like an intriguing pass-catching developmental tight end at the next level.
Penn State tight end Brett Brackett is scheduled to conduct a private workout this week for the San Francisco 49ers, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
The 6-foot-5, 248-pounder had a strong Pro Day with times of 4.53 and 4.61 seconds in the 40-yard dash and a 34 1/2 inch vertical leap.
He also registered a 9-10 broad jump, 22 repetitions of 225 pounds in the bench press, a 4.14 short shuttle, a 6.72 three-cone drill and an 11.27 60-yard shuttle.
Among the teams that paid close attention to Brackett, the St. Louis Rams, Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets.
A four-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference selection, Brackett caught 39 passes for 525 yards and five touchdowns last season.
Obviously he was looked at by a few teams, and looks like another Miller, hopefully more durable.

same thing, yes it is my main priority, then cars. The Jags being 1-2, makes me mad, and usually when we lose, i lay off BCC for most of the week. Will always be a fan, just got some more important stuff to do. And girls/woman can help me, Jags can’t really help me, if you know what I mean ;)

but i work on all my friends cars, i got an additonal 2 car garage in my backyard, they pull their cars in. my last friend pulled his bmw in, and it was making a whistling noise when he braked…turns out when he braked the air intake would come slightly lose(very slightly), and when he accelerated it would wedge itself back on.

females are nothing but trouble. Fun trouble, but trouble none the less.
Why not bring back Wilford?
On another note, any idea when Osgood returns?

My God..
Someone just shoot Miller and put him out of his misery. I have never seen a more fragile player in my life.
They use to say the same thing about a certain running back
Bet Jags fans were glad we were patient with him. Plus what does it cost having him on the roster, one roster spot and like 500,000 for the season. And it’s not like we have some young promising guy behind him, he is the young promising guy.

Except Fred Taylor actually produced consistently when he was on the field.
I plan to live forever. So far, so good.
