Jaguars announce LB Clint Session to injured reserve
The Jaguars announced on Twitter today that linebacker Clint Session has been placed on injured reserve, which ends his 2011 season. LB Kevin Bentley was signed to bring the roster back to 53. Clint Session, a free agent acquistion in his first year with the Jaguars, accumulated 30 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in 2011 after a slow start to the year.
The nature of his head injury has yet to be released, but it was thought to be a concussion when he left Sunday's game against the Browns. If it is a concussion the Jaguars could just be playing ultra conservative at 3-7 and looking towards the future rather than rushing him back. Perhaps if they were a .500 team or better, this wouldn't be an injury that would end his season. But that's purely speculative until the nature of his injury becomes clear.
Bentley is a 10 year veteran that will fill in for Session on the roster and has played in 132 career games with 37 starts.

No need to risk further injury with him
His long term health is more important.

Why are we bringing in a vet?
We suck right now and we are not going to the playoffs. Smith should have brought in someone who is young to see what they can do. Looks like the team is folding in the towel. I say we fire del rio and promote tucker to see what he has. We need new blood and we can’t lose the next three weeks or else we are going to lose any of the fair weather fans that are still around.

Realistically, what could Tucker do differently than JDR at this point in the season?
Unless he has a magic wand that turns the receivers into Pro Bowlers and gives Gabbert 2 more years experience, this team is not going to improve much until the offseason.
I like to watch.

this team needs motivation
A change at head coach is imminent. Get it over with.
A rah-rah guy perhaps?
Just what the hell do you think JDR is?

He's a 10-year vet who's played in132 games
We’renot going to find a UDFA rookie who will contribute as much. This is a stop-gap measure to have a healthy, experienced player available for six games.

we arent going to win anything
my point is id rather sign a young guy off the street than sign a lifelong bench player.
I look at it this way
you know Bentley can play football. he’s made it through 10 nfl training camps. I doubt he’ll he be as good as Session. but neither will a guy off the street. with Bentley you get a guy you know is serious about and capable in his craft.

that sounds serious that a guy would walk off the field one day and go on IR the next. hope he’s ok.

2nd concussion
http://www.profootballweekly.com/2011/11/22/jaguars-make-change-at-linebacker
Session started six games for Jacksonville this season and made 30 tackles. He suffered a concussion earlier in the year and re-aggravated the head injury in the Week 11 loss to the Browns. Team doctors felt it wasn’t worth it for his long-term health to return to the field this season.
