Eugene Monroe
Highest-rated offensive player: LT Eugene Monroe (+2.5) – Monroe pass-blocked 38 times Sunday and only allowed one pressure. The Jaguars’ offensive line has been in flux all season, but it’s clear that Monroe is one of the consistently good players. On the season, Monroe’s +5.2 grade ranks him ninth overall among tackles, and sixth among left tackles. His +5.5 pass-blocking rating is fourth overall among tackles. Monroe may have taken that final step toward being an elite tackle, and the Jaguars’ line is much better with him in the lineup than with him out.
Make of it what you will.

Very interesting
But also confusing. I’m not the best at grading talent on the offensive line so stats like these are all I really have to base my opinion off of (and of course obviously blown protections or pancakes). How do we judge these stats? This is big with the whole will-he wont-he with Gene Smith. Monroe comes out of this elite, and there’s one of those “giant steps forward” Alfie keeps saying hasn’t happened yet.
sure
the dude has talent. I just think that he could be better and more consistent. Unlike many other fans, I am more than happy with him anchoring thiss O-Line for the next decade.
Only Gene Smith isn't hating on Gene Smith these days
and that’s because Gene’s too well-known. He’s hating on Andy Dengler, the small-time national scout for the Jaguars.

Consistency is issue
He has the talent to be one of the best, he just has to show up with the same kind of effort every week.

Just becuase he is great doesnt mean we shouldnt draft another LT. The loser of that battle would just get the RT job and the whole line improves becuase of it.

I feel like the 2009 picks should now becoming around
The third year improvement may have been inhibited by the lock out
I didn't realize that only the Jaguars were locked out
